Because this game reserve is only a 75min drive from our home in Richards Bay, we visit this wonderful game reserve a couple of times a year.
This time the game reserve had been transformed into an Eden...lush green grass and trees was a wonderful sight to behold. You could see the joy in the animals behavior as these is much to eat and drink. The IMfolozi river was also flowing nice and sting.
We saw almost every kind of animal, except for the ”cats”.
For lunch, we enjoyed a braai at Sontela Loop picnic spot...in the wild next to the IMfolozi river...can life get better.
I can highly recommend this beautiful game reserve.

Stunning park. Roads in good condition. Saw very little animals. Would recommend that you rather go to hluhluwe. No place to hv lunch in the park and staff were super unfriendly.

Recommend coming here in the winter when the grass is dead and the leaves are off more trees. This will increase your chances of amazing sightings. This place is great to see Rhinos

It does not get better than this.

Iz and I were coming back from the White Imfolozi River on the way to Cengeni gate.

We had spent three days and two nights in the reserve and it was mid afternoon so we were heading back to Eshowe for a presentation in the Golf Club that evening.

We had great viewing but when we least expected it a cheetah in full view in open grassland with a live young buck between its legs only 40m from the track.

I will not go into the gory details but we watched for about an hour before heading home. Marvelous.

Imfolozi has become our favorite to visit and show family and friends a bit of africa.
We saw plenty of rhino, elephant, giraffe, impala and warthog up close which enthralled our young children. Following the dirt road loops, we came across the amazing dung beetles busy at work.
The picnic spots which allows braais were great places for the children to run around and there too we had exciting sightings.
The beautiful lush green bush of summer makes the viewing more challenging but the scenery is magnificent.
Mpila tented camp is our choice of accommodation and enhances a great bush experience, and so close to Durban.
