We, a family of 4, stayed at Diktamos Villas in Villa Ammos for 2 weeks in July 2017. We had a wonderful stay and enjoyed both the house and the surroundings very much. The garden, the pool area and the house is very beautiful decorated and the house is fully equipped. The owner Mr. Kostas is very helpful and pleasant. Mr. Kostas wife has a seafood restaurant in the old venetian habour in Rethymnon it is really worth a visit. Rethymnon with all its shops, restaurants and bars is only a short drive away. We had dinner in Rethymnon 6-7 nights and then went back to the villa and enjoyed a drink in the peaceful and quiet surroundings before bedtime. The Villas are located in Atsipopoulo Village very close to the old part of the town which is very charming and picturesque.
Diktamos Villas are perfect if you wish to enjoy Crete away from the very touristy places but still close to Rethymnon and with the possibility of reaching all the sightseeing must-sees and also experience the “real” Crete.
Diktamos Villas is the best place we have stayed in Crete says, the whole Family, and we really hope to come back.
We really enjoyed our stay here. The villa and grounds were beautifully maintained, the pool area was delightful and everything was very clean.
The location was ideal for us. Astipopulo is a quiet village but it only took a few minutes drive to Rethymno. Being in the middle of the Island meant that many of the sites were reachable for day trips.
Above all, it was the warm welcome of our host Kostas and his wife Maria which made our stay so memorable. For example, arriving late in the evening after a tiring day travelling we found that Kostas had prepared a lovely supper for us!
We also enjoyed some local Cretan food, including honey, pastries and oranges, which was left for us. As we were keen to explore the island, Kostas had many suggestions for places to visit to get the most out of our stay.
We are looking forward to visiting again soon!
we had a very pleasant stay. The very good location. The neighborhood is calm. There is a traditional restaurant in a minute walk. Five minutes drive to the beautiful beach. Five minutes walk to the grocery store and bakery. The villa had all you might need. And thу very pleasant hosts.

We had a great time on Crete. The Amnos villa contributed very much to our holiday experience. The villa is spacious and nicely decorated. Mr Kostas, the owner lives nearby and he is really a very sympathetic man. he made us breakfast on the first day of our stay! He gave us oranges, olive oil and lots of other specialties from his own garden and from other places in Crete! He had very good suggestions for trips, taking into account the wheater forecast. The pool was clean and even in spring our teenagers really enjoyed it!
We arrived late afternoon.
Mr Kostas (owner) immediately offered us a ride to a nearby supermarket, as we needed to stock up the fridge.
This was a sign of things to come as far as the owners approach to their guests is considered. Both Mr Kostas and his lovely wife Maria will not let you have a bad stay. Not a chance.
The villa itself is spacious and has a lot of character. Decor has a lot to do with it, so does the tidiness. Spot on. The pool is inviting and just the right size.
The only thing that may bother guests without means of transport (like us) is the fact that it is a bit of a walk to get to Rethimno (around 30 min). We got rescued by Mr Kostas on a few occasions with a lift to town, including the crucial one on the last day, when our pre booked taxi just did not show up.
This is a 5 star spot. No questions. Make sure to check it out.
Thank you for a wonderful stay.
