This place is a hidden gem.
The Positive - Spacious, spotless modern apartments, all freshly painted and tastefully designed. Modern matching utensils and crockery, electric hob, oven, microwave, hand blender, electric fruit juicer, coffee maker, toaster, kettle and even a dishwasher. TV has plenty of English and American channels. Air conditioning in the sitting room plus the option of buying wood for a log fire.
The apartments come in blocks of one upper and one ground floor apartment. I had number 44 (an upper) which means a flight of about 12 steps. If you have any difficulty with stairs, ask for a ground floor apartment. My balcony at the back of the apartment overlooked fields of what looked like grape vines and other plants, very private. All the windows had electric shutters, operated by a button inside, so felt very safe and secure at night.
All the staff spoke good English and appeared very happy to do so. I was asked many times if I was ok, or was there anything that I needed. Super, super helpful.
My cleaner's name was Anna and she is an absolute star. When she cleaned my apartment it shone and smelt wonderful. She is so good at her job and always so happy and cheerful.
The negative - the location, three restaurants, one Chinese, one Indian and one Portugese. Two supermarkets and a closed down shopping centre. There is a bus service to Albufeira but it drops you off miles from anywhere. I noticed that all the property in Gale is newbuild and that includes Glenridge, so perhaps the location will build up to be better in time.
The beach is a long walk away and when you get there it is tiny and not particularly inviting.
Would I stay at Glenridge again? Yes, I recommend highly.
