If you are in the area, then this museum is well worth it. Kasmu village is along the Baltic Sea north coast and is a small community of mostly Estonian family summer homes and some vacation rentals. The museum has excellent artifacts of the culture, boat and building construction, various mariner periods and regional war occupations. There is a couple that are stewards, tour guides, and they have living quarters in the museum. Donations accepted once you get past the curious irish setters.

Kasmu is about an hour east of Tallinn by car, and 70 km (50 miles). There is a bus from Tallinn into Kasmu.

Lunchtime stopover with cycling group so had set meal of smoked salmon potatoes tartar ish sauce and salad with coffee tea and cake. All cooked by the family who live there and it was simple but simply delicious. There are 2 dining rooms each for 16 or so and you then get a talk about the history of estonia through WW2 to today the martime tradition etc and then wander thru quite a few rooms with all sorts (65000) of interesting stuff from a loom to a russian soldier image used for shooting practice to seafaring stuff etc. A surprise and a great stopover definately recommended. I think you may have to book meal in advance (€15)

Interesting little museum. Good meal of smoked salmon provided on our tour. Beach outside was lovely although we were there at twilight on a cold December afternoon!
