Came here as a last resort and as we knew families who had been before, will definitely not be back even as a last resort again. On paper and the website the place seems fantastic however this is not the reality you experience when you stay here. They lady who checked us in was extremely nice and friendly and directed us to the house we were staying in. We arrived at 1:45 and check in is usually 2 but our house was ready. The houses look a bit shabby from the outside and the wooden patio furniture needs to be thrown out as its rotten through. Also the grass on the grounds is full of weeds. Our house was one of the ones towards the rear of the resort grounds right next to a farm so a lovely smell of cow dung greeted us every time we went outside. Supposedly the house was cleaned before our arrival but there were massive cobwebs in all the rooms, the kind that have been there for quite some time and built up a coating of dust. These houses are clearly not well maintained. Every single tap dripped in the house and the shower in the main bathroom did not work nor did the bath. The shower in the ensuite did but with absolutely no water pressure. The beds were incredibly uncomfortable and small in all the rooms so my wife and I didnt get much sleep for the week we were there. You need to bring your own towels but thankfully we knew this beforehand. Other "luxury items" such as loo rolls, bin bags and dishwasher tabs are given in extremely short supply so bring these with you also. The cutlery, delf, pots and pans have seen better days. The frying pan was buckled beyond belief and was doing 360 spins on the cooking hob every time we tried to use it. The lack of upkeep is so noticeable in the houses and its very disappointing; kitchen table leg black duct tape to cover over a split, curtain rail hanging out of one of the walls in the kids rooms, I could go on and on....As mentioned in previous rooms the pool is very disappointing also. The changing rooms are freezing and smelly and don't dare try and walk in there without flipflops as you will fall as our smallest found out day 1. The showers are chronic and I could find only one in the mens where the water worked and was warm. The pool area is freezing also and again in dire need of upkeep. A lot of the tiles are green and the paint on the room girders is flaking off. A lot of the pool facilities aren't working also, hot tub was out of action almost all week we were there, the water mushroom for kids was on twice I think and the bubble seats just didn't work. You don't need to wear a swim cap in the pool as well, which is strange considering you do in any other pool I have ever been to. There's as on site takeaway and mini mart-esque shop at the side of the main resort building also. The food in the takeaway is not good at all. Had pizza there once and I have often put better pizzas in the over at home from Dunnes, in fact I think these were the same pizzas from Dunnes! Chips and everything else were horrible also and the staff in there are not nice at all and made it seems like we were an inconvenience when we went in. The shop is the same, the staff are not nice at all. The shop closes at 10pm and I went in there one night with my son at 9:45 and 2 minutes later was asked by the girl working if we were going to buy anything at all. Again the shop and the takeaway are in bad need of maintenance and upkeep (common theme throughout the resort). The bar/restaurant was ok and the food is good for adults however for kids its like reheated fast food. The staff are shocking in there, all kids or students with no experience. The times we ate in there we were sat at a table and left to our own devices until I had to go and get someone to take our order or ask for another drink/desert or pay. No manners from the bar staff and got my order (2 drinks) wrong on numerous occasions. Some of the clientele that frequented the bar were a bit rough and I was shocked the first night to see security on the door of the bar - never have I ever seen this in a resort bar Ive stayed in before. Also heard a customer telling the manager one night that a fight had kicked off outside the bar before he ran off to calm things down. You don't want to be worried about something kicking off when you have small kids in a supposedly family friendly environment. Saw a police car in the car park of the resort a number of nights also. There was entertainment every night in the bar for kids which was really good, apart from the night a kid slapped the magician! Next to the bar there is an amusement arcade which consists mostly of claw grabber games which was good for the kids for 10 minutes but again the old chestnut of upkeep raises its head as a lot of the arcade games were broken or not working properly. Same with the kids play area behind the pool area no upkeep and our kinds only went into it once. The saving graces of the holiday were the nice weather and the resorts proximity to the amazing Banna Beach. Definitely wont be back. Theres great potential for this place to be something special however from reading back over previous reviews the issues Ive mentioned above have been going on for years now.
