Mylos is a very relaxing taverna. The food and service is very good. Even if i'ts a windy area the atmosphere is very laid back with a great view towards Frangokastello beach and castle and the epic mountains of Crete. If you go to Frangokastello eat here!

Well that was tasty. The food is amazing and good value for money. I highly recommend the fried zucchini. Also you eat in great conditions. Shaded fom the sun and winds near Frangokastello and spectacular views to the sea, the castle and the White Mountains.

We had a really disappointing lunch here. Lovely location and outlook onto the sea but little else to offer beyond that. Prawns Saganaki were cold and it was a mean portion. Pork Schnitzel was one of the worst I've ever had. Indifferent service and over-priced. Give it a miss.

Always when it's not too windy sit by the sea on the taras!! For breakfast Order fresh orange juice and a sweet greek coffe. Or a cappuccino with the thickest foam ever. Don't forget to order "Sfakia pita" which is a local pancake with cheese, seved warm and with honey. For lunch get yourself gavras ( small fried fish), homemade tzatzik ( suprisingly the carrot makes the difference), horiatiki - the perfect Greek salad with pieces of tomatoes, sliced cucumbers, sweetest in the world onion, green bell peppers, olives ( Creten Kalamata from the owners olive trees) and feta cheese. Season it with salt and dress with olive oil. This comes from the small ,local olive mill that you pass on your way to Hora Sfakia, about 1 km from the gas station in Frango. This olive oil is made by the Manouselis family from local olives that you can see grow. don't forget the lamb dish - you've never experienced such delicious and natural tast. And of course grilled fresh fish with melteg oil, butther and lemon dressing.. Although it is to be grilled I always have the feeling that an additional frying is added. But who cares.
Then there is time for dinner. Choose any of the salads apart from the tuna. Ask for dressing on the side. You might choose to just sprinkle it with the fantastic olive oil. Then check what is in the show case. The vegy seasonal dishes are unforgetable.I can't stop before clearing a plate of green peas with antrichokes. Meatballs with thyme and mint, suflaki, etc, etc. You can eat and eat and eat. And ofcourse dont forget to pour some olive oil on a plate, season with salt, add a dash of wine viniger and soak the fresh white, thickly cut, crispy skinned bread. Forget the water just take carafes of wine :) good that airlines do not weigh passengers on their way back from Crete.
