Went for a week. Fab position. Lovely view over the sea loch and an easy amble into village . Main room upstairs with bathroom next to it and living room upstairs. Downstairs three twin rooms share one bathroom. Large kitchen diner
Clean and comfortable house with lovely views of Loch Craignish. We enjoyed kayaking when the wind was not gusting and had an excellent sighting of 2 otters playing in the water off the headland. The area is attractive, the well stocked shop and the pub were friendly and welcoming. Some of the trails marked on the map turned out to be heavy duty logging routes so stick with the official routes. The house has many practical features. The layout in the kitchen was awkward with the glass cupboard very difficult to reach and we had to move the microwave, and the front door is very close to the bottom of the stairs, but those are minor issues. The group enjoyed the house and area and it was convenient for kayaking, cycling, jogging and walking the dogs. The swimming pool at Loch Gilphead was useful on days when the weather was very Scottish.
We were greeted with a very thoughtful arrival pack, a spotlessly clean & very well equipped house. It is set in a beautiful location & the upstairs lounge gives you the full benefit of the magnificent views over the loch & the distant mountains. A great place to bring your dog, we took advantage of the local walks & the local hostelry, which in turn allowed us to meet with the exceptionally friendly locals.
Stunning views from the upstairs sitting room. A very spacious property with all mod cons. Ardfern and the surrounding area is ridiculously beautiful even when its raining
