Such a pleasure to come back here…the coziest hotel we’ve ever been to or how the Danish would say such a “hygge” hotel. Because we’ve been here so many times I will just emphasize some changes, maybe not many people know, but they changed the owner, therefore there were some changes…
CONs: One of the best things that Hotel Hills used to have it, was the massage area, you can check on their website. Unfortunately, the new owner moved the massage into ONE room in the sauna area. I understand that they want to move it to be close to the SPA area, but Mr. please arrange something more appropriate to a massage area. Because the one room existing in December was horrible, no candles, steamy and heat smell, noisy like hell due to the air humidifier machine running and such a small room!!!! That’s not a relaxing room! All the coziness from before was gone, no tea ritual ceremony, no warm lighting, no relaxing area, no oil burners in the room, no music…this was the ugliest surprise we had there… The sad part is that the receptionist didn’t bother to inform us about the changes and maybe , the saddest part was that the massage area still existed downstairs, but they moved the massage in the ONE room…unbelievable sad...You know, Mr. New Owner people DO care about the massage and the area in which is taken…
The second best thing Hotel Hills used to have was the fire burning in the fireplace. It was so “hygge” to take dinner each evening after a long ski/snowboard day to a table next to the woods burning in the fireplace. Please light again the fire in the fireplace, it was so cozy and relaxing.. That light in the restaurant was like “home”…
PROs: One of the best things was the person performing the massage (a Slovakian man who worked in England, therefore his very good English, such a bliss in Slovakia). Don’t get me wrong the Thailand ladies were also so good with massage, but man this guy knows how to massage. It was very relaxing, especially on the back. A little piece of advice, maybe it’s time to change the names of the massages in the pricing list, because what the Thailand ladies were performing is very different to what Mr. Slovakian is doing.
They fixed the problem with the relaxing music in the SPA area, which was wonderful, now you can indeed relax there with some good relaxing music.
The food was still delicious, this year was Swedish style, no more a la carte…but it was good. The only problem was, that if you wanted to have more courses to choose, you had to serve dinner latest 7.30 pm, because round 8.00 even the dessert was gone and they were not eager to replace it, only if you told them…although the dinner was served between 6 – 9 pm
The rooms still very clean, including the SPA area, the showers in the pool area needed some fixing but that can happen with so many people there in high season.
They translated in English the New Year’s Eve Menu!!!!! Yeeeei, eventually! The New Year Programme was also ok, fun. Too bad the Mr. Peter Ondria didn’t sing longer, he was so good. I think maximum 30 -40 mix he sung. It was a Cabaret night theme, very nice idea.
Our daughter was supposed to come with us, but she changed her mind, therefore we had an extra ticket for the New Year’s Eve, but the staff there were so nice, that they reimbursed our cash, so with the 50 EURO we paid our additional drinks costs and even got some butter cream and oil massage prepared by Hotel Hills. Such a professionalism from them.
Thank you Hotel Hills for all the beautiful days and nights we have spent there!
