We visited Oistins twice during our week in Barbados. There are a collection of different casual restaurants and bars that offer fresh fish grilled to order. Our favorite was Uncle George's Fish Net - their sample of grilled barracuda was so good that we chose them. We had lobster with the standard salads and a side. It was absolutely delicious. Our second visit was to Yvonne's, which was good but not quite as good as George's. If you like fresh seafood you should visit Oistins.

Oistins is where it's at! Everyone converges to fill up the various booths. There are some crafts and such, but mostly food booths. Be ready to make some new friends at crowded picnic tables! Pro tip: you only need to wait in line if you're ordering takeaway, apparently. Try sitting and ordering from a server, first.

We took the mini bus to Oistein's on a Friday evening for $1 US dollar or $2(Bajan) each way. True Island experience. Almost like a flea market for food. Lots of vendors. Pat's and the eateries around Pat's were the best. You can smell and see the grilled food. Flying fish seems to be most popular. U.S. Dollars are widely accepted all over the island so bring lots of $1 dollar bills if you don't want to exchange your money.

This is an opportunity for tourists and locals to really mingle.
Traditional food served from little shacks a great place for fish lovers. Extremely well priced food.
Lots of places to buy a Banks or rum punch.
Then walk along the front see what the street vendors have and soak up the atmosphere and listen to the various music on offer.

We went to Oistins on the Friday night which is the best night to go, the food is amazing with loads of places to eat and so much fish to choose from however that's about it, it's very crowded with no where to sit down unless your eating, I didn't feel safe on the beach with far to many locals trying to sell drugs to you (Weed). The music is very loud and so many different types it all sounded a bit of a racket but that's just me I guess.

All in it's worth a visit just to say you have done it but it's not something I would do again.
