But the food was good as was the service. One of a few basic beach side cafes at Dover Beach with a good atmosphere.

We have been staying in the gap for nearly 2 weeks paying an average of 50bds for our meals and around 65 bds for a bottle of wine, in lovely restaurants but you will not find food any better than this little place. Guess eating at roadside on plastic tables means the price comes down but the quality of the food doesn't. I have fish platter ( flying fish) 2 pieces with rice and salad for30bds husband has fish platter 45bds and we shared a lovely bottle of Pinot Grigio for 45bds, all bottles cost the same.
Service excellent the the cook was friendly and really cared that we enjoyed her food. Absolutely loved this authentic place, trouble is everyone else does so go before 6.30 or after 9 if you want a guaranteed table otherwise be prepared to wait.

If you want really good Caribbean food, cooked well and served with a smile, this is the place to eat. There are a lot of small restaurants in this area by Dover beach and to be fair, I didn't try them all but for my money Sea Ya is the best. I did try a very expensive restaurant a little further up the beach and it was nowhere near as good, despite being about three times the price. I can especially recommend the rotis. If I ever find myself back in Barbados, I shall certainly see Sea Ya again.

This place sits on a row of eateries by Dover beach. The food here in this little humble row is far better than many of the fancy restaurants further down the road... for a fraction of the price. Do yourself a favour and eat here in these places (pick a place based on how busy it is, if it’s quiet = food gets to you quicker, otherwise you’ll be waiting a long time), and avoid the big flashy restaurants that aren’t that great!!!

Flying fish cutter = amazing.
