We still remember the awe with which we were greeted when we first stepped into the Temple of Apollo. The drive into the town was very easy, parking was a similar experience too. There was no rush and it was beautiful and quaint. We loved visiting here and would do so again in a heartbeat! We recommend it too.

Well worth seeing if you are in the area, and like Old Ruins!
This is just outside the city of Didim, and quite easy to find.
Parking is easy, and there are of course, the usual coffee shops that surround places like this in Turkey!!!
Some columns remain intact, and part of the inside of the Temple.
Not as spectacular as Efes, but as a Ruin, it is OK and worth a visit if you are close by!

What can I say about this fantastic temple?
As far as I know, it used to be the 2nd most famous oracle temple of ancient Greece, after Delphi. It was destroyed and later on was re-build by Alexander the Great.
For those who know the way of ancient Greek architecture will realize that this is not a typical Greek style. The huge columns and the way it was build remind me of ancient Egypt or something similar to that. (I am not a historian, so I do not know how to describe it better).
In any case, if you are visiting Didim, this is THE most important place you should see!
