I stayed at the Venosa Beach resort for 7 days, 16 - 23 October 2011. It cost £387 including luggage and transfers with Sun Wings. Excellent Hotel, fantastic views from the balcony, the food was great and the staff were all very friendly. I took a small kettle and cups for a morning drink in the room, the shop in the foyer sells long life milk. The alcoholic drinks were excellent but I didn't like the coffee, I did like their sage tea! The water in the outdoor pools was too cold to swim, but I went in the sea several times and that was warm. Dolmus bus runs every 10 minutes or so from the resort entrance into the nearest town Altinkum, it cost 1.75TL. I walked into town along the bus route one day, it took 1 hour 10 mins. I recommend a boat trip £10 for the day and that includes lunch! You can swim off the boat at four different anchored stops. I am looking forward to returning there in May next year.

Just came back from a amazing stay at venosa beach resort and spa, I am amazed :D everything was fautless, the rooms were huge, spotless and modern with a sunbathing balcony, perfect! Food was lovely, all I would say is watch out for animals (foreign people) they pile there plates up like there never gonna eat again and there very rude! Facilaties were great massive olymic size swimming pool with a big round pool and slides :D there was even an indoor pool, a gym, a beautiful spa, watersports and a stage where there was always something going one. entertainment was excellent shows, dancing, partys and there was even a night club. Games room was great, lots of shops to go to which was fantanstic and fairly cheap too. The beach was beautiful with a long jetty going out to sea. Lots of hammocks and beds to have and a choice of sun or shade. Staff were very friendly too:D best holiday in a while and I will defently be returning the only fault was checking in we got the wrong room for 1 night but after that we had a large family room with a big balcony

We stayed at the Venosa 19th Sept to Oct 3rd .We booked rooms next to each other but when we arrived we where on different floors but this was sorted out the next day.Yes the food is not hot all the time but you can heat it in a microwave ,what we must remember this is how a lot of Hotels serve meals it is not just the Venosa. The food was really lovelly a good selection all through the day, no English breakfast but lovelly omlettes and the bread was better then some that we buy in this country .Our room was always kept clean and tidy and the girls that cleaned them always had a smile. Service at the bars was good and always someone clearing the tables. The PRIVATE beach was the best i have seen for along time.Evening entertainment could have been better but we liked our evenings in the seating area in the main bar .If you are looking for night life you need to go to the next town but the bus service is good.Only down side was the wasps alot around the snack bar.if you want an all inclusive holiday and want to relax and just chill out then this is for you, the pools are clean and ideal for children. I would go back again even with the long trasfer time ,none of the staff were rude very helpful. Those people with a negative feedback of this hotel are you sure it was the Venosa you stayed at?

Room Tip: We were on level 3 room 3126 this over looked the pool which was nice at night as the pool was lit a...

Arrived at the Venosa from a morning flight from Manchester to find that our 'agent' had forgotten to fax through our reservation. Luckily we had our confirmation receipt, so things were quickly sorted out by the efficient reception staff, and there was room for us (I dread to think what might have happened if we had arrived in peak season). We were shown to our room along a carpeted corridor, which makes a pleasant change. The room was lovely (1304), with great views across the gardens and bay, although there was a strong smell of sewage when we first went in. The smell soon went when the balcony door was opened and the room became lived in. Apparently there has been a problem with the drains from day one, but we were told that the Venosa will be closed in November and December to rectify this and other teething problems.
FOOD: Buffet meals in the main restaurant. There is an option to eat on the terrace, but the wasps make it too much of a hassle. There is no sausage or bacon at breakfast. The fried eggs are good, and they bake fabulous bread, and thats about it. There is an omelette station, but the chef is so miserable, you don't feel like bothering him.
Lunch and dinner are the same - same stew, same salad, same fish, same soup, same chips.
Overall I found the food extremely repetitive and of poor quality. The meat dishes were fatty and grisly and the salads were the previous days menu with salad cream on.
The pool bar lunch buffet is mediocre but the pancake tent is, well, AMAZING - best food on site.
FACILITIES: The hotel is only a few months old and so is top notch for decor and comfort. Its a 'boutique' style hotel with some nice touches, although I am puzzled by the use of Xmas wrapping paper on the pillars on the fabulous marble stairs in the atrium.
The pools and gardens are terrific, a lovely setting to chill out and relax, and the beach is a lot nearer than it looks on the photos. My grumble here would be the amount of wasps. They are everywhere. Don't make the mistake of taking a soft drink to your sun lounger to sip in the afternoon sun, because it just isn't going to happen. The wasps must be nesting somewhere and I did suggest that they might invest in pest control to try and minimise the problem.
The animation team are enthusiastic, but they are a bunch of kids. They bounce about like excited puppies and don't do a lot else. During our 1 week stay, we had 2 days of rain and I would have expected the animation team to organise something. The shows at night were tedious and amateur.
There is no waiter service for drinks and there is always a rush for the bar at 10:50. A good idea is to try and double up on drinks at about 10:30.
SPA: I used the spa for a Turkish bath and massage. It was £20 and worth every penny. The spa is tranquil and relaxed and my tan definitely lasted longer.
NEARBY: The dolmus runs from the hotel into Altinkum every 15 minutes and is 1.75 lira each way. The dolmus runs from 8:00am to 10:00pm. Its an excellent way of getting about and if you tell the driver where you want to go, then he will let you off at the right place and show you where to catch it to go back.
There is a sports bar on the beach next door to the Venosa. It was popular for the Rugby world cup, and other guests thought the food was very good and great value for money. If you want a change of menu, the Blue Restaurant is nearby. Just go to the security gate at the hotel and tell the guard where you want to go and he will arrange for the restaurant to come and pick you up. Great T-bone steaks.
OVERVIEW: Great for a week of chill out, but wouldn't go back again. Hate to think what the white sofas and new carpets will look like this time next year.

When you book a 5star hotel you expect a good standard but this certainly was not. The rooms were OK but the restaurant like a works canteen The food, well when I tell you both my husband and I spent 3 days with food poisoning that should tell you something. The food was lukewarm and kept in bain-maries that were not up to a safe temperature. The choice extremely poor the only thing they could get right were the chips. If you went back to the buffet during your meal it was very likely the staff had cleared your table completely and another guest seated there. As for a la carte this was the same food but served to you. The evening entertainment was rubbish and during the day the music around the pool area so loud there was nowhere to get away from the constant Bum Bum Bum. The only person who seemed to enjoy it was the DJ. How anyone could say they had a good time at this hotel I cannot imagine. Never again.

Room Tip: The all face the beach
