Very peaceful. Had a blessing by a monk. Free parking and restroom. Great view from the north side of the island.

If your only Thai stop is Samui, go check it out for the experience. If you’ve already been to more Thai temples than you can count, I would only bother if you’re in the area.

There are 80 steps up to a lookout at the top that houses a reasonably large Buddha. There are a number of shops and restaurants at the bottom. And there free print by if you just drive all the way to the bottom of the Buddha.

Not at all busy on the tuesday morning we went.

We went there after driving across the man-made causeway. Lots of religious paraphernalia on display. Plus a collection box for coffins! Free entry. Women are required to dress modestly. Especially shoulders. Nice steep walk up the steps to Buddha.

(Written in English) The big golden shining Buddha is at the top of the Sacred Site. Very crowded spot but also really beautiful and suggestive. The view from the terrace of Temple is stunning.

Definitely worth spending some time for the visit. We spent about 1 hour walking around taking mainly photos. No fees are charged at the entrance. Make sure to wear appropriate clothes before going. There are a lot of shops and restaurants. Buddha is very well maintained.
