My daughter and I talked my wife into a grilled dinner. We looked on trip advisor and this was number 1 in Cres. Sadly we were more than disappointed. I had the tris lamb 3 ways. It was ok. A bit fatty and tough. My wife had the pork kebab. It was so tough she gave up. My eldest daughter had lamb and gnocchi. The gnocchi was ok but the lamb was bibe and fat with a bit of gristle. We all tried it and none of us could eat it. My youngest had the pork cutlets. None of us could eat that either. Overcooked and tough as leather. The people next to us seemed to be struggling also. A real let down and paying was insult to injury but we couldn't be bothered with a fuss. Don't go.

We had a lunch in Bukaleta some days ago! The food (lamb) was excellent and the house wine perfect. Staff is very professional and kind!

The lamb in three ways - the best was oven-baked (tender, fell off the bones, but there was much of the bone also). Breadcrumbed tasted as grandma's snitschel - also very good. But grilled one was too chewy to eat, even very hard to cut, guess the original meat piece was lamb's thigh for that result. But flavours and seasoning were awesome for all the different meat, it was the structure that differed. For garnishing we chose grilled vegetables zucchini, tomato and onion slices.

The lamb liver we took prior the main course was heavenly. Service was attentive, although by 3 different guys. Bill for 2 people was about 350 kunas (~50€). That included wine, beer and mineral water, main dish and liver.

So in all a definite must go in Cres :)

Simple croatian 'konoba' in a small farmer village. Outstanding lamb. Way better than the tourist traps in other places. Worth the drive from Cres town - will definitely be back for the lamb.

It's a place we don't miss when (once a year on a day trip) we visit Cres or Losinj. Sometimes we decide to make a trip just to finish it with lamb dish in Bukaleta. Everything is exceptional. The way they prepare lamb meat, is only possible to taste here. If you are lucky there will be no groups. But the service is even then quick and good. "Tripice" is something we have to taste next year. And this year we had some very good cakes, all home made. Even took some for "to go".
