We only spent 1 night at this fabulous lodge but wished it was more.
The room was incredible - it was the lowest price room they had but there were still plenty of special touches. It was roomy and the bathroom was spacious - all of the towels and linen were good quality. It contained everything we needed & we had a great sleep!
The breakfast was wonderful - plenty of choice & everything was lovely & fresh.
The dinner was also quite nice but as it was a set menu my only comment would be that the offer of an alternate meal for us fussy eaters would have been appreciated.
We went out in the evening for a husky safari which was incredible. No northern lights but the gorgeous huskies, their amazing enthusiasm, the knowledgeable guide, the exciting ride through the dark snowy wilderness was more than enough. It was pricey but worth it. One thing that was very odd though was that we had to provide a deposit to use the lodges headlamps. Considering that the room, the dinner & the safari were all quite expensive I actually found this a little bit insulting.
My only other suggestion if you are visiting would be that if you are anything other than an average size make sure you take your own snow gear as the options available from the lodge are very limited.
The staff were lovely and went out of their way to assist when we had an issue with our hire car. Also prior to our stay, all emails and questions were answered promptly.

Dear Chris G,

Thank you for taking your time to give us some lovely and helpful feedback, we really appreciate it!
We are delighted that you enjoyed your stay and were happy with the overall experience, we will make sure to pass your kind comments to all the staff. The headlamps we have here at the hotel are of best quality and we are happy to provide them throughout your stay. The deposit is actually just a signature, no actual charge unless the headlamps somehow end up lost. We do have a wide range of winter gear which we are more than happy to provide for the full length of your stay. Our selection of sizes for winter overalls goes from extra small (150 cm) to 4XL and winter boots from 35 (US 5) to 50 (US 14).
We wish you all the best and a warm welcome back, should you decide to visit Rovaniemi again!

Kind regards,

Team Beana Laponia

This is a beautiful, family run lodge for adults only. They literally couldn’t have done for us during our stay. They will organise all of your trips for you, many of which can be done directly from site. They are also really flexible if you need to change any of your plans. There’s a cosy lounge area to relax in during the evenings and the onsite kitchen is excellent. The tour guides are friendly and knowledgeable and most importantly know how to look after the sledge dogs properly. I couldn’t have asked for a more perfect experience and will definitely be coming back one day.

In Lapland there are an awful lot of tourist traps and gimmick hotels. This is certainly not the case at Beana Laponia. It is an adult only 11 room hotel set in the middle of nowhere! We had a beautiful corner suite with our own sauna. We did snow mobile, reindeer safari but the absolute highlight was the husky safari. We set off in the morning and stopped for a campfire lunch, just amazing.
The food was excellent and the staff incredibly friendly. It was just perfect!

Wonderful welcoming family run lodge in a remote part of North Lapland. Adults only. Serene forest and river side location. This is primarily a husky breeding and training business and they share the experience with their guests. We went on 60 Kms dog sledding journey, also snow mobile safaris and walking in the snow covered forests.
Food was good, rooms were comfortable and very quiet. One warning, it is not cheap, but in our opinion the experience is so special that it is worth it.

If you are looking for the perfect place to spend time this is amazing part of the world this is it. My daughter loves huskies and we found this place via our travel agent, yes I still use one, but what a find. The hotel is just perfect and having huskies on site made it more special. We went out on snowmobiles, were woken up to see the stunning Northern lights, but the husky safari was the highlight, driving a sled with five amazing animals desperate to pull you along is something we as a family will never forget.
I would recommend this hotel to anyone wanting to experience real Lapland hospitality. My daughter never goes back to a place or hotel, she believes the world is too big to explore, but she has said this is one of the places that she will break that rule for. Thank you to the team for making this the best 21st my daughter could have hoped for.
