The journey (by scooter!) to find this place was so lovely going up into the mountains. We went in July 2014 and were lucky with the weather getting there and then it absolutely chucked it down for the 2 nights we stayed.
However instead of being disappointed at being completely trapped we were totally embraced by the wonderful couple, Rebecca and Andrea who run the hotel. They let us cook with them in the kitchen and kept us laughing all day long as we drank a lot of wine and played a lot of board games!
There is a lovely panoramic swimming pool and some great walks but it was so torrential we didn't make it far.
The couple cook the food and they are brilliant - extraordinary home made pastries in the morning and really excellent lunches and dinners. They also have top notch wines at really decent prices.
It feels like a friendly B&B but the house is so classic and elegant and the couple are so lovely you feel like you are the only people there - 5star treatment.
There is a lovely living room with a huge open fire (not on while we were there in July) with a chesterfield and lots of books in all kinds of languages.
The room we had was on the top floor with a spectacular view of the local area. Nice big bathroom and all very clean.
This place is excellent value for money and well worth the trip for gourmet focussed R&R in a heavenly beautiful area.

We stayed here as a group of 6 mountain bikers. Rebecca could not have made us more welcome. Setting is stunning, fantastic building and pool. Great meal cooked and served by hostess and husband Andrea. Only 4 rooms so very quiet.
If you are in the area and get the chance - stay here - you will not be disappointed!

Room Tip: The 3 rooms on the top floor have great views. A little hard to find, follow signposting off main road some 3km away.

This b&b has been the highlight of our road trip through Italy. Everything about this establishment is top-notch.

It is very easy to speak in superlatives about this place, because it is just perfect.

- quiet, beautiful setting with all the comforts you could wish for (pool, wifi, great rooms, amazing breakfast, wines by the bottle for lazy evenings)
- the most amazing hosts (Andrea & Rebecca make you feel at home and really do go out of their way to make your holiday unforgettable)
- the best breakfast ever (homemade bread, delicious cakes, fresh cheese, truffle salami, great coffee, the list goes on)
- the house is at the top of a small hill, overlooking a gorgeous valley. Great to while away the days poolside, just looking at the clouds passing overhead.
- in an area of Italy where you don't feel like it's overrun by tourists

In one word: fantastic!

We landed in Rome and headed to Venice with this as our first stop. Beautiful, very clean, peaceful and a fabulous breakfast before hitting the road. The owners are friendly, helpful and wonderful. Very easy and quick drive into town for dinner. We just loved being at Casa Paterna!
