Recently opened at Six Mens, North of Speightstown, this is the latest addition to the Nikki Beach brand of beach clubs, generally favoured by the younger, upmarket clientele.
On a Sunday in Barbados in January, the lunch group were a more mature mix of both local Barbadians and visitors.
While the menu is good quality beach club rather than high-end restaurant, the fish, sushi and salads were tastefully presented and tasteful to consume. With a varied wine list and friendly service, this was a good choice for Sunday lunch in the sun.
Having recently opened, there were one or two teething problems with the service and the staff were challenged to keep the tablecloths in place in the brisk, but pleasant breeze; these will almost certainly be under control as time progresses.
On the downside, our request for local tap water as declined by our waitress as there were issues with "contamination".
This venue captures all the features of other Nikki Beach clubs with polite and efficient valet parking, friendly front of house staff, quality but unobtrusive music and live art.
In Barbados, this venue is likely to be a little different from some of the other Nikki Beach clubs with a more mature, restrained and sophisticated clientele.
