This was my 3rd visit here, it is located at a distance of 3kms from Pelling. One feels relaxed and quiet when you visit here, it has a lot of relics dating back to 15th-16th century BC.

Easy to access by car with a car park right by the entrance.
There's a 20 rupees charge to enter.
The main building is beautiful and my young kids thought so too. Top floor has a remarkable structure that you could spend ages looking at.
You get some great views from here too.
Probably don't need more than an hour.

This was my favourite Monastery in my trip to Sikkim. Usually quiet although there are times when tour groups descend in large numbers. The artefacts and cultural objects on display are very interesting as are the visual representations.

It is one of the oldest and premier monasteries of Sikkim, also the most famous in west Sikkim
The interiors were well preserved and the statues and carvings are very mesmerizing. .Must visit for history buffs- the history of buddhist monasteries and the cultural and local influence in their art you could enjoy it. Its not exactly a awe inspiring monastery by either size or its richness. The first floor of the monastery has a notable collection of ancient Buddhist antique idols, scriptures as well as sculptures and decorated paintings. Make sure to go to the top floor where an amazing piece of art can be seen- the seven-tiered painted wooden structure portraying Guru Rimpoche's Heavenly Palace known as "Sanghthokpalri"
