Only stayed there for one night. But the stay was just wonderful. The outdoor infinity edge whirlpool is a must visit, specially in the cold weather. The staff is just excellent. They did everything hey could to accomodate us and anticipated what we would require :)

Room Tip: The corridors are quite long. Rooms near the elevators would be convenient.

Booking Experience:
I don’t remember which site it was but I saw a banner advert for the Wildflower hall, and the location blew me away. I was like vow this can’t be India. I quickly checked with a few friends and a couple we knew had been there last year and they confirmed that it really is a great experience. I logged onto the Oberoi Website and saw that there was a nice package that suited us. However the package with meals that was mentioned was not "available online". I called up the central reservation desk and they confirmed to me that yes they do have the availability. Wonder why it did not show up online. Anyways we did a telephonic reservation.

Check-in Experience:
We had booked Mountain View Rooms. We were given rooms on the 2nd floor, I would have preferred a higher floor, but was told that the rooms were not available. I found it hard to believe, since we did not see more than 5 couples during our entire stay. This was the only blemish in an otherwise superb experience.

Highlights:
- Outdoor Jacuzzi - Superb setting, excellent service. Easily our favorite place
- Good grounds around the hotel. There are well marked paths that you can go for walks on.
- Snow! - It was snowing in February; this was a first for us in India. The scene outside was magical.
- The River Rafting on Sutlej was superbly organized; the picnic arrangements were perfect as well.
- Food - The menu might seem limited, but the food is superbly made & presented. You should try the Himachali Thali.
- Hospitality - Top class. We were made to feel special and were taken care of by everyone at the hotel.

Special Mention:
On the last day as we were having our breakfast the F&B manager came up to us and informed us that there was heavy snowfall the night before and as a result our car will not be able to make it down to the public road. (The hotel is at an elevated location and there is a drive from the public road to the hotel). He then volunteered to work with our driver in ensuring that our car could make it down safely. He had two people guiding our driver and ensuring that car came safely down to the road. He also arranged for a hotel car to take us & our baggage down to the road. Excellent service.

We had a great experience. Highly recommended.

Note for families: As a policy the Oberoi Wildflower Hall does not allow children (below 12 years) as guests. This I believe is for safety reasons.

Room Tip: Go for the Mountain View Rooms on a higher floor

Dear Guest

It was a pleasure having you stay at Wildflower Hall.

February is always a beautiful time and we are delighted that you were able to enjoy the snowfall! The river rafting is highly recommended and we are so pleased to know that the facilities in and around the hotel contributed to a memorable stay.

Your comments about the all inclusive package and booking through our central reservations has been noted and is greatly appreciated. I have taken up the matter on a priority basis. Please accept our sincerest apologies for the non-availability of rooms on the third floor (the highest floor with the views of the Himalayas). We will ensure that on your next visit we allocate one of these rooms for your comfort.

We hope you have plans to return in a different season to once again experience the magic of the Himalayas. My team and I look forward to welcoming you back.

The location can easily be part of a fable! A castle at top of a hill; in middle of wilderness; covered with snow. You have to see it to believe it! I don’t know how it looks in summers but if there is one place you would want to enjoy the snow- it is here!

The best part for us was the infinity Jacuzzi- a pool right at the edge of the cliff, overlooking the snow clad mountains. Imagine yourself in middle of a warm pool with snow all around and a martini in your hand- bliss!

You can also take a walk on an enchantingly named trek- the wild strawberry walk. We were fortunate to have a thick layer of snow covering this trek.

Although it is not a large property, it is self sufficient and well done. The rooms are well provided but how we wished that it had a balcony! But we were not enthused by the beds.

The services and food et al were pretty much what you will expect from a property of this category.
However, I was particularly disappointed with the exorbitantly priced pick and drop services from Shimla. I found it unfair.

Having said that, if there is one place I would not mind paying premium for the location, it has to be Wildflower Hall. You just can’t find a better location in Himalyas.

Dear Guest

I wish to thank you for spending your valuable time updating your experience on Trip Advisor.

As you have mentioned, we are perched exclusively high up on a hill, overlooking the Greater Western Himalayan mountain range. This affords us breathtaking views of the surrounding vistas and there is no better place to enjoy the views than from the comfort of the outdoor heated Jacuzzi.

We are delighted that we were able to satisfy your culinary needs and that you were able to enjoy the serenity of the adjoining forest sanctuary.
I have noted your valued comments on the transport details and sincerely apologise.

Thank you for choosing to stay at our beautiful property and I hope you and your family and friends have plans to return again soon. It would indeed be a pleasure to welcome you all back to the beauty of the foothills of the Himalayas!
