If you like polished properties and American-style service then this place isn't for you. It's all about disconnecting from the outside world, kicking off your shoes and listening to nature, sipping on an ever changing menu of fresh cocktails, fine wines, excellent cuisine and finding yourself once again.
The resort, a myriad of bamboo, sandstone and tented structures couldn't be more robinson-crusoe if it tried. But this isn't a copy-cat resort of bare-foot luxury, it's one of the true bastions of the concept. Coming soon, but not open for our trip includes a brand new beach with beach bar, cold room and restaurant. But still the favourites remain, including Khun Benz, and now a new tapas menu brought to life by Chef David and Chef Kengo.
We stayed in Villa 17 this time, which may have the same footprint of a one bed beach villa, but thanks to a second story offers much more space, and was the perfect haven for 4 adults and a baby to enjoy, relax and recharge batteries.
One week just isn't enough here. It just means we will be leaving once again wanting to return.More
