Very friendly and helpful staff. Rooms are well equipped and well kept. Pool looked pretty and clean shame the weather was terrible and we couldn't use it. Very simple American breakfast in the morning but all in all nice stay would visit again

Paradise location but the resort need lots of TLC! Resort is rundown, although the bungalow I stayed in was oke. Staff is friendly but bored...On their phones all the time, no real atention for guests. I was here in the low season. Might come back in dry season again because of the paradise location.

On first glance the room is adequate and clean. But we had run out of gas for hot water, and of the two day visit I had the one and only hot shower having fixed the loose wire in the instant unit. Getting to our particular "hut" was positively dangerous and truth is that it would be shut down for the loose and/or rotting boardwalk planks and poor lighting at night. Tragically, I fear the staff know they are working in a less-than-adequate "resort" and the famous Thai smile is non existent. The only saving grace for this place is the food. There is much truth in the adage: You get what you pay for.

Room Tip: This is ideal an idea backpacker base. Don't risk the pathways when tipsy.

Even allowing that A-Na-Lay Resort is at the budget end of the accommodation on Koh Kut, there is no excuse for the run down, and generally grubby condition of the grounds and the accommodation.

It seems as there has been no maintenance here for a long time, either on the grounds of the chalets, which sit in natural woodland on a hillside, leading down to the bay. You need the dexterity of a mountain goat to navigate some of the pathways over rocks, mud holes, and wooden board walks with many rotten planks, just waiting for someone to put their foot through them and breaking an ankle.

The rooms are less than clean, with mold on the bathroom walls. For two days we had no hot water, despite asking management several times to fix it. Although they sent maintenance workers, the fix was short lived, and my next shower was as cold as all those before it.

On top of that the famous Thai smile was no where to be seen from the on-site manager, who had an almost churlish attitude.

On the only positive, we both agreed, that the kitchen produces excellent Thai food, especially seafood and the chef and kitchen staff, deserve better.

We moved to another resort on day three for just a few hundred baht extra, and walked into paradise.
