Even allowing that A-Na-Lay Resort is at the budget end of the accommodation on Koh Kut, there is no excuse for the run down, and generally grubby condition of the grounds and the accommodation.

It seems as there has been no maintenance here for a long time, either on the grounds of the chalets, which sit in natural woodland on a hillside, leading down to the bay. You need the dexterity of a mountain goat to navigate some of the pathways over rocks, mud holes, and wooden board walks with many rotten planks, just waiting for someone to put their foot through them and breaking an ankle.

The rooms are less than clean, with mold on the bathroom walls. For two days we had no hot water, despite asking management several times to fix it. Although they sent maintenance workers, the fix was short lived, and my next shower was as cold as all those before it.

On top of that the famous Thai smile was no where to be seen from the on-site manager, who had an almost churlish attitude.

On the only positive, we both agreed, that the kitchen produces excellent Thai food, especially seafood and the chef and kitchen staff, deserve better.

We moved to another resort on day three for just a few hundred baht extra, and walked into paradise.

Really great beach, almost without people. Our bungalow was in jungle but with great seaview. Only 20 meters to the beach:)

If you are looking for great food, then near this resort on roadside there is good restaurant with best seafood in Thailand.

Room tip: Seaview rooms are really great:)

Wery nice location with palms and beach and beautiful water. Bungalows seem to be about end of life but still okay if you accept this. Nice sea view even from cheapest bungalows. Propably best location on the island.

Placed in one of the most beautiful bays on Koh Kood, this resort is the only one in the bay. The resort consists entirely of bungalows, most with a view to the bay. There are long walkways along the waterfront, these are poorly maintained, and you tend to look down on the boards as opposed to on the beautiful view, of fear of going through the boards. The resort needs a good renovation, before it can become the resort the placement justify.
Lovely place, run down facilities
