I Stayed here initially for a couple of days but ended up staying for the full week whilst working away and it was a good location that did it for me. It was a very comfortable room with settee so i could relax without sitting at a table, unfortunately there was no restaurant in use but with the local food sources it was just fine. I was out early so didn't bother with the breakfast and if i am in the area again i would rebook with no hesitation.

Taking safety measures
Stayed for one night as part of a cycling tour. Due to Covid the pub/restaurant was closed and check in was contactless with a key safe, but Tanya phoned us with the details and made us feel very welcome. Comfortable room in a lovely old building in the centre of Bungay. A very good breakfast was cooked to order and set us up for the day.
We hope to return when the restaurant is open again.
Stayed one night to go to the nearby theatre, room quite spacious and clean. Poor nights sleep due to rattling windows and very poorly fitting door which moved to and fro in the frame. Wing field room.
Ate dinner in the restaurant, lovely food and pleasant ambience, very good.
Breakfast freshly cooked and tasty. Staff all very friendly and helpful.
We booked to stay on a cold January day. The welcome at the hotel was friendly and we were able to check into our room at 13.00. The room was spacious, well served with electrical sockets (always loads of charging), nice tea and coffee and toiletries. Nice to have a settle to rest on. Also a nice touch to have a dressing robe. The information in the room about the history of this historic building and surroundings was very interesting. Also good to have hints for local vists. The breakfast was 08.0 to 09.00. It is all cooked to order and local produce. Very very nice. This is a nice small town hotel. With its attached restaurant and bar a great place to stay. I should note it also has free internet and parking.
Have visited many times as we live locally and the Chef is totally amazing with his diverse menu which would be at home in Mayfair without the price tag
The Inn is immaculate and the service and attention to detail is second to none
This is one of the gems of Suffolk even if you don’t stay , try this Chefs food you will not be disappointed
As usual we enjoyed a delicious meal! Staff polite & friendly & a lovely, welcoming atmosphere. We often have people visit from London & always recommend they eat at The castle inn. Can’t wait for next time.
