Four of us popped in for an evening meal having read the positive reviews. Was not disappointed with the choice of menu , quality & quantity of food and helpfulness of staff. Reasonably priced, the food tasted gorgeous with a generous salad with plenty of ingredients not just your standard lettuce, tomato and Cucumber. All our 4 different dishes were spot on and served very timely. Will return when near again.

Thank Andy S

Last visited two years ago when we were in the area and the review was very good at that time. This time however.......
We went at my request.
Friendly greeting and we were soon seated with drinks orders taken. Our food orders were taken and then we waited and waited. The food took an age to arrive but they were quite big portions when they finally showed up. However, I don't mind al dente vegetables but I do object to under cooked potatoes. They were changed to ones that had obviously been in the microwave (at least they were cooked) but with no offer of taking the inedible ones away.
The desserts were a nice size portion too but the accompanying custard, cream and ice cream was rather paltry.
The order for teas and coffees seemed to be a difficult thing and the wrong things were bought to the table but rectified.
Overall the food was nice (apart from the spuds) but this visit was certainly a very different experience to the last one.

Thank Toheem

Called in on a very cold Wednesday evening. Me and my partner both ordered the fish which was very nice and good generous portions.
Great service and easy parking facilities.

Our first trip to axminster and we will definitely be back! We visited hunters lodge a couple of times while we was there and it was beautiful! The staff were very friendly and welcoming and the food was well presented and delicious. The service by Paige & louise for our Sunday dinner was great and nothing was too much trouble. I have already recommended the pub to a few friends who visit the area often.. well done and we can't wait to visit again soon.
