Pretty sure all these reviews are by the owner. This is a very basic motel, in the middle of nowhere, 20euro EW into town. Do yourself a favour, stay in the city. Reception unfriendly and very uninviting.

Dear Guest, we were very disappointed that you did not enjoy our hotel, and as the owner of the property, I am very sad that you think I am enjoying writing reviews for my business. Customer reviews are always improving our organization every day. Since the opening we have had 4219 guest reviews on 11 different websites giving us a satisfaction score of 88%, which credibilizes our quality. But I can understand that you prefer the city center for 20 € more expensive and 10 € more for parking
Sincerely. Ludovic

This hotel seems very new. The staff are very helpful. One thing to comment on is the distance to the city centre. It is not walkable as it is over 5 Kms across some large roads. There is a tram service which is very inexpensive. I think it runs every half hour or so. Back to the hotel. very clean very secure and nice. Would I stay again...yes after exploring possible deals in the city centre.

Room tip: It is 5 Kms from Reims but not isolated

We had a very good stay at Akena! The hotel is located on the outskirts of Reims and it is about a ten minute drive into the centre. The room was clean, comfortable and spacious with air conditioning. We spent 3 nights here and had a very enjoyable stay. The staff and cleaners were very helpful and friendly.

I stayed here in July for a two night stay en-route to Calais after a holiday in the southern France.

The Akena was great. It's a newly built hotel in an area which is currently under development. If you look on google street view it doesn't look great but don't be put off by that.

The price was very reasonable. The rooms were clean, well furnished and comfortable. Breakfast was an extra charge - we chose it for both mornings as it was easier than going into the town. It was a good breakfast - plenty of selection for a standard continental breakfast. Lots of juices and different milks.

Another nice perk was free coffee from the machine in the lobby anytime you wanted it.

The staff were friendly and helpful. I was concerned that we would be late to check in - as had read that the car park gates closed at 10pm. I phoned when we were on the way to check that it would be okay to arrive after 10pm. The woman on reception reassured us that all would be okay. Another receptionist advised us that the trams weren't running that weekend - but called us a taxi. Very helpful indeed.

I would happily stay here again - it was an ideal place to break the journey up to the channel ports - and of course visit some champagne houses in Reims.
