For long it was abandoned. But in a few years it was renovated ( some work is still in progress ) And looking better than ever. Located on the beatiful bank of river keila. And next to keila-joa fall. You have great architecture and nature together. Go for a walk aorund the park!
Keila-Joa Manor or Schloss Fall as it is called is a beautiful renovated building originally from the 17th century. The manor had several owners. It used to be rather simple building but in the 19th century the main building was built.
The manor was expropriated after World War I. It was used as a military base during World War II. It was plundered several times and partly left in ruins.
After regainin our independence the manor belonged to Foreing Ministry and was auctioned for a few times. Finally in 2010 it found new owners who put in a lot of effort to restore the main building and others accompanying it.
Now several buildings are beautifully restored and some are still waiting for their time.
The building is stunning.
But everything is restored meaning no original parts, furniture, etc. There are a lot of chairs people can sit on.
There are no informative signs neither in Estonian nor in English. There is a museum downstairs with information though.
We had a guide.
The building is beautiful and the surroundings as well. Keila-Joa Waterfall is just outside.
After decades of neglect the manor house with a specatcular view on Keila Fall stands again in its neo gothic splendor. It houses a very good restaurant and a smal museum that at the time of our visit show flower art of a dutch artist.
