In between a watercourse and the Atlantic ocean, constructed on top of the sand. The food is good. The view is beatiful. Recomended in sunny days.

This is a fantastic place, specially for Summer and the warmer months. It is located on the coast of the Pando River, in El Pinar, Canelones and it is surrounded by very white sand dunes, a short walk from the beach (of the River Plate). I have not tried it when the weather is cold or the wind blowing, but I am assuming it is as comfortable. The place reminds me of something that could be enclaved in the coast of Key Biscayne, or maybe Key West. Lots of wood in its construction, with elements from the nautical world, very creative fireplace made from a huge buoy for example. The owner works with carpentry and can be seen on the floor chatting with guests, etc. It is an informal setting, not a dressy place (have been there at noon, not in the evening). Tables are rustic, thick wood, there are plenty of sections to choose, inside, outside, upstairs, a living room, etc. Service was good, menu is very tasty and nice selection. Quite abundant too... Call before as I think they close on Mondays. Also, getting there is a tad bit tricky for anyone not familiar with the area. The easiest way is to take Avenida Gianatassio all the way till before the River Pando (you will see a toll ahead of you, do not go that way, as there is no easy way back). Prior to crossing the river, take a slight right into a parallel road and move down that parallel road toward the river. The road will curve and go alongside the river coast, so follow that until the very end. By then you will see a slight "Y" on the road, so take the left side and you will see the wooden big construction clearly. It has a small "parking" for restaurant clients only.

Food is good, drinks are great, setting is beautiful mostly during the day but also at night.
Prices are way too high for the product, service is a little too slow for my taste.

Weird note: the guard openly carrying a gun inside the restaurant is rare for Uruguay.

A hidden gem. A relaxed rustic environment, with the appeal of country style. With a big wooden fireplace taking center stage.

Ideal for Sunday lunch with your family. Or a date night out for couples in a more relaxed environment.

Make sure to make reservations early on, otherwise you
