The room was clean and bright and bed was comfortable although pillows were quite firm and high. The reason I wouldn’t recommend for an airport stopover is that there is no lift for access to middle or top floor apartments which means negotiating flights of stairs with your luggage. Also, doors to apartments are quite noisy and as people are coming and going at all hours, it means that you are constantly woken by doors banging. The apartments would probably be fine if you were on the ground floor and/or if it wasn’t busy.

I was a bit worried about how good the Best Western the would be after ending up in some odd apartment in Adelaide. But these are lovely apartments, there are more utensils in the drawer than most apartments, and even roasting trays. If you don't feel like cooking there are a list of restaurants that you can ring reception to order for you and it goes on your account. The room is comfortable, the climate control is easy to operate and parking is at the door. The shower is over a deep bath, which may be difficult to manage if you have mobility issues and I found it very slippery. The glass screen isn't enough to stop water getting all over the floor.

Room Tip: There are upstairs and downstairs apartments.

The apartment was great. Room to move and very clean. The bed was comfortable and the shower was hot. Close to everything with good parking. All the facilities that you will need including a washer and dryer.

Room Tip: Ground floor rooms have a small courtyard.

This is about a 10 minute taxi ride to/from the airport.

Depending on your taxi driver, they may or may not be too amused with the short taxi ride. I found the meter was already at $7 and change before we even got too far from the airport. The taxi ride is about $14.00 from the airport and $10 and change to the airport – traffic was heavier going to the airport and the driver was slower so this addresses my comment regarding the taxis.

The front desk person was very friendly and welcoming. She quickly checked us in and provided us with our key and an explanation of how to get to our room and the availability of breakfast and use of the pool.

One enters the main door where there is a hall that leads to two units, A and B. We had the one bedroom apartment. There is a full sized fridge, table and chairs, stove, sink, etc. with all the dishes, pots and pans and utensils required to make one’s stay convenient. There is instant coffee and tea available. The kitchen and living room area are open and there is a couch with a coffee table and television. The living room has patio doors that lead to the courtyard with swimming pool. Our suite was on the ground floor.

There is a bedroom off the living room that has a queen bed, desk, night stands and lamps. There are patio doors off the bedroom that lead to the courtyard with swimming pool.

The bathroom is located off the bedroom and has a deep tub with shower, toilet, sink, washer and dryer, and a sink for the laundry. It was different to see the dryer hanging from the ceiling.

The suite is dated but clean.

Shampoo, conditioner, shaving cream, soap, etc. are in wall mounted units located by the sink and in the shower/tub area.

Dish detergent and soap for clothes is also included.

Breakfast is in a room located in the Reception area on the second floor. It is a continental breakfast and it does have a number of items to select from. It is simple but fills the void. It can get a bit crowded however, there is another boardroom across from the kitchen/dining area where one can go and enjoy more space.

Since we were up before the breakfast opened for the day, there was a McDonald’s on the next block so we took a quick trip there for coffee.

This apartment was quiet and provided us with a comfortable night’s sleep. The unit and its location provided safety and security but at no point did I feel unsafe in the first place. There appears to be lots of parking. The staff ensured we had a taxi to take us to the airport to continue our journey and again, were very friendly and helpful.

Room Tip: Select the one bedroom unit.

I spent four nights in Ascot's one bedroom apartment while renovations were being done at my Perth home.

The apartment was clean, well equipped with all the facilities needed for a longer tern stay, with a kitchen stove and oven, microwave, cutlery, crockery and glassware for four people, large fridge/freezer, washing machine and dryer, dining table and chairs, TV and DVD player, comfortable two seater couch and armchair, aircon, clock radio and plenty of power points for devices.

The larger one bedrooms back onto a very well laid out courtyard and pool area with large sliding glass doors to access your own small courtyard or the larger pool area.

Good security with gates and cameras in guest areas.

Despite being on a major highway, there was no road noise, and made for a peaceful night's sleep. Plenty of open air parking, but access to the highway can be a little tricky if not careful. Very close to the airport.

Good price with an early booking, overall good experience.

Room Tip: One bedroom apartments are better placed than the studios to avoid road noise from the busy highway.

Awesome review Pedro! Thank you for being so informative in your review for Best Western Plus Ascot. The one bedroom apartments really are a home away from home and have all the necessities including a laundry for a comfortable time during your stay. There is a big difference between the one bedroom apartment and studio as the studio is suited for one night stays like a hotel room with a little kitchenette so I am pleased you chose the one bedroom apartment as they are also quiet. I hope your renovations are great and what a super idea to get out of your house whilst they are underway!! Thank you!!
