If you want comfortable lodgings, a beautiful garden, attention to detail, an elegant but filling breakfast, and a very lovely hostess, this is your place! We stayed only one night, although Ingrid told us that next year they will likely have to do week-long bookings only. This B&B is located on a hill with the lake visible in the distance. It is quiet, spacious, and incredibly clean. Given that we were only there one night, we didn't have time to sit and enjoy the garden, but this would be a lovely spot for reading, a card game, tossing a football, etc (yes, it's that spacious). We did not use the outdoor hot tub...mostly because of time, and because it was a very warm day and Ingrid said the hot tub was very hot. There are three suites in this B&B. We stayed in the largest (the Copper Island Suite; a walk out basement with it's own entrance). It has two QUEEN beds (not double, as one of the web pages says) in two good sized bedrooms, a full bathroom (beautiful, but on the smaller side), and a kitchen (apartment sized). There is also a full living room and a dining room. There was a hide-a-bed in our suite, which there was ample space for. The beds were VERY comfortable; one was harder and one softer, which suited our party perfectly. The bedding was fantastic...feather duvets and pillows (which can be substituted for those with allergies) and the SOFTEST sheets! And it smelled WONDERFUL, as they dry the bedding outside in the fresh air. Ingrid & Helmut are both artists at heart, and this shines through in everything from his scupltures throughout the house to the presentation of breakfast and folding of towels. Breakfast was an amazing experience! The living room/dining room upstairs is set up with three tables so that guests have their own space. Our table was beautifully set with linens, silver (including silver charger plates), and china. GORGEOUS! The food was delicious, ample, and beautifully presented (especially "dessert"!), and Ingrid was the ultimate host...always smiling, catering to our every need, fantastic social skills, and seemingly unflappable! She was thoughtful in her food selection...bringing in dark, heavy breads (as well as softer white) as she thought my German parents would enjoy them. And despite the spread of fritatta (egg/veggie dish, similar to an omelette), fruit, and breads, she told us to save room for "dessert" (at breakfast??), which was french toast with fresh raspberries (her neighbor brought some over that morning) and whip cream, presented as you would find in a top class restaurant. You will not be disappointed! NOTE: there were no alarm clocks in the bedrooms; this property is not ON the lake, it is up on the hill but on the lakeside of the highway.
