We spent two nights here at Park House - to be able to stay in a hotel designed by Ando and filled with art is an amazing and unique experience.
Getting here from Tokyo was a little bit of a challenge but Benesse House website has reasonable directions. When you arrive by ferry on Naoshima you wait for the next Benesse House bus and they take you there.
Our rooms was lovely - beautiful views and nice and quiet. A James Turrell lithograph on the wall ! Reasonable wifi but minimal storage.
Staff are very good - they explain how everything works on check in. The island is a little difficult to get around and there are not many buses but everyone seems to manage.
Breakfast at Park Terrace was very good - lovely views and nice selection of food and very good expresso coffee
We had dinner at Benesse Museum one night - good Japanese food and excellent service. We walked back but cars will take you back if you do not want to walk.
We loved walking along the coast looking at the sculptures - it is a beautiful setting.
This is a unique and special experience.
