The blue cave just because when you get out it's blue.. like any underwater cave. All the diving boats and snorkelers go there, there can be 50 people in that cave at any point. Most of them beginners or doing discover scuba so make sure you hang on to your mask and reg if you're diving, it's kicking left and right!
But really not worth all the fuss.

We had this on our itinerary but did not do any booking. We decided not to book through the hotel as it seems a bit pricey compared to other operators. The person at the concierge told us the price difference is for the book ride to the cave while the others will ask you to swim (?).

We drove down to Cape Maeda area where one of the recommended operators is located. But they were fully booked for the day. Was told to drive to the carpark at Cape Maeda and try my luck with others. We tried another one but was also full booked.

We ended up at the public carpark and found 4-5 vans that set up stores offering snorkeling or diving trips. We were told by different operators that the blue cave was not accessible that day due to strong waves.

So we signed up for a snorkeling session with one of the van operators. It cost JPY3,500 per pax, all equipments provided and they even took photos for us which is given free.

Pros:
Weather was good enough for snorkeling. The wetsuit kept us warm even with the 20 degree weather.
Fuss free. You go to the car park, ask around and sign up.
Patient operator.
Free photos.

Cons:
Snorkeling time seems short (maybe we were having a good time).
Did not see the blue cave and they charge the same price.
You get all the photos of the other people in the group and they will have yours as well.

Me and my teen girl were at onna last week. She was very keen to snorkel, so we booked a snorkelling trip 5005 jpy/pax with rizzan sea hotel. When we finally went down to the wavery sea at blue lagoon, all we saw were 3 types of fish, and they were normal fish which can see in market. The trip is about 2 hrs, including travelling, changing in and out of gears, boating to blue cave, the actual snorkel time is only 30 mins, that applied the same for those who booked the diving trip. Took some puctures but need to buy a SD card which cost 1000 jpy, till now i have not seen these pictures cause need to find a card reader. Overall, we felt this trip is redundant, i would have spent my 11010 jpy at Busena to see more fishes. Regrets!!!

Snorkelling is adequate for this blue cave experience, diving May not be necessary as it's mainly to see the amazing blue lit waters inside the cave and feeding of fishes outside. Great morning and must try in okinawa!

This site has a very beautiful entrance and a great photo op. But it is shallow, small, basic, and crowded. There is no challenge to the dive. If you are frightened of more challenging dives then this is a very good beginner cave. The surrounding ecology is nice. But there are much better dive sites with beauty, caves, etc. such as the Manza Dream Hole. I would recommend asking the dive instructor for their opinions on sites that cater to your preferences.
