Matteo is a really great host. We have never been in such a familiar Hostel like that.
Matteo gave us great Restaurant tips and rented us a Surf-Board!
Overall I would recommend it to anyone!

Internet constantly interrupted when power cut off (not the owners fault)
Very far from the beach - need transport to get to the surfing area or pay the owner for transport there (can rent their surfboard)
Very remote area - apart from the one beach nothing else to do/see
No yoga classes or other activities offered by owners - I think they plan to create facilities in the future
Living inside the owner’s house using their lounge and kitchen (plan for it)
House renovations going on while we were there (building new part onto the roof) which means you cannot be in the house during day time (check in advance to ensure it is complete)
No swimming pool or other means to cool off during the day
Received lots of warnings from the owners about theft and safety in the area (which we appreciated).
Marbella is a surf spot so the travellers come to surf (they know exactly what they are looking for: remote, uncrowded beach, nothing except a beach and a pkace to sleep or eat) and we opened a typical surf house. We live on site at first floor and all the rooms for rent are located at the ground floor with a comon shared area where we stay all together if we want to share some quality time with you in the living room and kitchen. If not we leave our guests their privacy. All the Nicoya peninsula down of Tamarindo is still jungle and unpaved coastal road full of incredible remote beaches but you need car of course even if you can reach some of them by bus you cant move easily and all the lodges are located "far" from the beach. Ours luckily its only 1 km not very far as you wrongly said maybe its good to check on google map . A very nice walk if you want to save money and not rent a car. If not better that you rent cause I saw many guests disappointed by the roads and difficulty to move in Costa Rica and its not our fault. with the car you can reach many hidden places and the nestling turtles refugee Ostional and fishing tour in San Juanillo and many yoga retreats in the area. A lot to see important that you enjoy what the mother earth has to offer you are in the right place not touristic not shopping not nightlife but full of beaches hundreds of km and water activities divig surfing fishing turtkes . The area has a lot to offer ask so we find you a transfer to see something so next time you are not so bored telling nothing to see....We covered the terrace and we needed 4 days as I told you nothing exceptional so guests can practice by themselves yoga under a rooftop not in the sun and a new space for them upstairs to chill out. In the town there is yoga teacher we support local business and I cant create another here but you have to walk if you dont have a car. She comes for big group too but not for one person to our surfhouse
Mansion size house. Super clean! Next to the beach. Cool owners. No bugs (mosquitoes). Good value for the price. Very safe. The best wave in Costa Rica with a chill crowd. I definitely recommend staying here.
Amazing spot in the middle of the nature.
The backyard is nice and very quiet.
Hammocks and slack line in the garden.
Big parking lot on the frontside.
Walk distance from the beach, where the waves are constant and funny.
The owners are kind and help you whatever you need.

Let me start with the things you want to know. This lodge is very clean. Air conditioning is top-notch, ALL the beds are not only handmade but super comfortable. Shower and bathrooms are impeccable with perfectly adjustable hot water to your own taste (Unlike some that if you just look at the showerhead in a funny way go from scalding to freezing in a split second - not here.), there is even an outside shower styled from a surfboard for when you return from the most amazing black sand beach I have ever seen, which is only a very short walk away. The kitchen is open plan with a stovetop/hob island that makes you feel as if you are on a celebrity cooking show as you make your breakfast/lunch/dinner with good quality pots, pans and utensils.
Now for the added bonus features, your hosts. The beautiful and exciting, Italian, hopelessly-in-love Adriana and Matteo. I can't remember the last time I met such genuine people. Within minutes you feel welcome and part of the family, it just comes naturally to them. They made this place for me, even though it was near on perfect already, and have turned it from a wonderful home-from-home to an exceptional place to stay. They provide a personal touch that you don't see much of any more, and together with their lovely little girl Alice and their dog Rio (who will escort you everywhere, to the shop, the beach, anywhere and always watch out for you) they...OH MY GOD I JUST REALISED THIS IS STARTING TO SOUND LIKE A DISNEY MOVIE!
Ok, I'll wind it in. Really nice hosts, perfect location for beach and surf lovers, very family AND group visit AND lone traveler (me) friendly orientated (I stayed here a month and met some wonderful people as they passed in and out of the doors) and a great place to hang if you love watching howler monkeys do their thing swinging in the trees, if you fancy a break from all the sun and sand whilst sitting on their porch.
Come. You won't regret it. And you might even make some friends for life :)
