Once a family Masseria, now a friendly BB with local feel of tranquility and tradition. Surrounded by lots of green and olive tree garden and very nice pool. Excellent service.
Avergae Breakfast, mainly Italian - sweet.

What a find this was!
An old fortified farmhouse - Masseria - in secluded location amongst thousands of olive trees. Peace and Quiet. What bliss!
The extremely warm friendly welcome and welcoming drink (we had coffee!) made us feel relaxed as soon as we arrived.
Our room in the main part of the hotel (Bosco) (Strazzati is the second part of the establishment and is further 800 metres down the track) was very large. High ceiling, very large bed, sitting area, good sized bathroom and shower.
The buildings themselves just ouze character and charm, the courtyard leads to a superb outdoor pool (not heated) and refreshment area. The surrounding olive trees have roads through them which you can walk through too.
The hotels location is good for exploring the very pretty coastline and towns. There is also a nature reserve nearby where you can see flamingoes.
The food at the hotel is very very good. Breakfasts are buffet style with good choice of food. Evening meal (we were on half board0 gave a choice of fish or meat course. All was cooked and presented to high standard. There is also an al a carte menu. The wine was local - very good - and very reasonably priced too!
The staff were superb. Warm and friendly and ready to have a talk / joke with you but quick to retire if you wanted to left alone. I do not eat fish - so one waiter named me 'one no fish!' for the duration of our stay. Super chap.
The owner of the hotel also runs the Olive oil production plus winery - very busy lady. She is a wonderful knowledgeable person who is happy to tell you about the olive growing process / oil production (bathroom items are produced on site).
In short a great place to relax, unwind and enjoy!

We would love to return.

A small friendly hotel, just how we like it. . We went out of season, were upgraded to a suite and had the pool to ourselves most mornings, and its a great pool, although some of the sun lounges are a little bit worn . The suite was spacious and the only thing missing were tea and coffee making facilities, we don't mind providing our own tea etc, but it's nice to have a kettle and cups in the room. Food is rural and varied with some great local dishes and they have some very good wines. The olive oil is their own and is top class. It's only a short drive from some beautiful beaches where the sea is clean, clear and inviting. I highly recommended this masseria to anyone wanting a quiet, relaxing holiday, the staff are brilliant and very friendly and we will definitely be going back.

A real stand out part of our holiday (for the wrong reasons) was that about 10 of our group had to send our main course back from the set menu. Served the pasta with fish, it looked, smelled and tasted horrible. It all went back. I could forgive an error (and the waiting staff tried to be helpful and offered alternatives) but for the poor grace by which the proprietor relented that we need only pay for the food we could eat rather than what was served. There was no apology for ruining our evening - just grumpy scowls!

The middle of nowhere location means you are hostage to their catering and expensive bar prices. The rooms in the monestry are also a good 10 minute hike from the main complex. OK for light dry evenings, but had it been raining or dark there was no lighting, torches or umbrellas.

Room Tip: Bear in mind monesty rooms are 10 minutes from main hotel down an unlit dusty track

Dear guest,
thank for your review; it is important for us to know your opinions.
We think mistakes can happen but we assure you that we use only fresh products; it is possible that you don't like the kind of fish (ray fish).
After different kind of our appetizers I think you hadn't hungry and our staff proposed you an other option from our menù à la carte without supplement, but you rejected it
If you see your bill, you have payed only for the appetizers (not for pasta),for the drinks at dinner and in the swimming pool, and for the cover seat (bread, olives, oil and friselline with patè).
We don't force anyone to eat from our fixed menù, we have menù à la carte and part of your friends ordered from it.
Our dependance (old convent) is a beautiful place and normally if rain we offer to our guests the umbrellas or we accompany them.
In your case all of you had a bicycle with lights.
We hope to see you again.... you can taste our food and I think you like it!

Stayed here for a week in June. Lovely welcoming helpful friendly staff many of whom speak very good English. Beautiful large en suite bedroom with mini bar, air conditioning, quality bed linen and towels. TV reception was a bit hit and miss but why would you need tv staying here. Wi fi fine. Beautiful swimming pool and terrace area for a pre dinner drink. Food excellent with good choices of local dishes. Excellent local beaches which the staff will book for you to reserve sun beds and a parasol at discounted prices which are a must given the beautiful hot sunny weather.
Secluded location in the middle of thousands of olive trees but only a couple of miles from Avetrana. Highly recommended
