Had a lovely holiday in this house last August. Would definitely go back there again. The property was central to everything & had lovely sea views.
The only negative was lack of Wi Fi & beds could have been more comfortable.
However lovely clean house & owner was extremely helpful & accommodating. Look forward to our next visit.
The house was exactly how it seemed in the photographs on the web site, the view at sunset was always something to look forward to seeing and the beds were very comfortable especially after a day exploring the area. Stephen was extremely helpful and all of the locals were as friendly and charming with the humour and wit that you would hope to encounter in Ireland. the local pubs offered a great atmosphere and some fine food, the Old Glen Bar was very good and the Singing Pub offered both good pub grub and restaurant dining along with live music every night. For a good coffee (not on a Wednesday) and a chat as well as helpful information for your water based activities in the area call in to Jaws Water Sports in Downings, or if you want to try out off road driving or speed down a zip wire, etc. head to the Glen out door activity centre, probably better when it's raining. A little further away from Downings we enjoyed the stunning landscape of Glenveagh Castle and Arranmore Island, probably 1.5 hours drive away from the house and numerous stunning beaches much closer to home that you may, like us, be lucky to have to yourselves for most of the day. All in all it is a wonderful place that we look forward to visiting again.
We travelled as a group of 3 families- and there was still plenty of room! When the weather is good, you can't beat the views! Even on a wet day there was enough to keep the kids occupied- aged 10, 8, 6, 6, and baby Alfie! Do visit tra na Rosas beach about 3.5 miles around the headland. Drownings beach great as its shallow for the kids. Others include marble hill- around 20-30 mins away. We couldn't find the murderhole beach! Pubs-- harbour bar 2.6 miles away in downings, singing pub 3.5 miles away- great food. We did trips to glenveagh national park- v good day out, dun fanghy, ards forest park. Swimming pool in downings a great find. For some reason the excellent soft play area is only open on Friday, Saturday and Sunday?!? Great lunch at cafe near mc nuts tweed shop. Our friends left and my elderly parents even came over for a couple of nights, they loved it. We absolutely loved this place, house is just perfect- a big thanks!!

Had a fabulous week here in August with children and grandparents . House suited three generations perfectly. The kitchen is so well equipped, the best of any rented house we have visited. The scenery is spectacular. We enjoyed reasonably good weather. Showers quickly passed. The games room was a welcome distraction from heavier rain but maybe not worth the extra money. The pool table isn't full sized yet despite this some shots were tricky as the cue was hitting the wall! A small gripe however in an otherwise fabulous house. Would recommend it thoroughly.
