Sauna sea and Sauvignon B

5.0 of 5 bubblesReviewed 25 Aug 2024
Had the most perfect catch up with friends here last night . We booked the sauna/sea swim for 6pm . We were greeted at reception by Marion who was so welcoming and friendly as always . The sauna experience is an absolute bargain @€15pp . The view from the sauna is breathtaking! A really unique experience. We then made our way back to the hotel where we had booked a table in their newly added conservatory. The service was top notch. All of the staff so friendly and attentive. The food was just delicious. Two of us shared a starter plate which was various homemade breads with tapenade chilli oil sundried tomatoes confit garlic hummus . Delicious
The other starter was a delectable lobster pie with a shot glass of lobster bisque . Perfection !
My main was the highlight of the evening. The most delicious scallops perfectly paired with pickled celeriac and celeriac puree among other things . An explosion of flavour ! A really enjoyable evening. Highly recommended

This hotel is a little gem. With private access to the beach for the kids and a tennis court. The hotel self catering suite is ideal for families two bedrooms kitchen bathroom and access to the sea weed bath beach and sauna that you can book online. The Resturant is 5 star with oysters, fresh sea food beautiful scallops and lobster pie with puff pastry to name a few. Marion on reception is so helpful she can’t do though to help even filling the seaweed bath for me! The staff are very friendly in general and very nice to the children they are very welcome in the restaurant. Very Good cocktails. Despite cold August we enjoyed our stay very much.

This is undoubtedly one of the best run and managed hotels in the country. Room was lovely, very well designed and equipped, and everything worked. Food was excellent, carefully curated menus, perfectly prepared and generous. Has EV charging. Location lovely.

We booked a deluxe Double Room with garden view. There was barely enough room to walk around the bed let alone open our suitcases. The bed near enough filled the room. The on-suite door to the shower room opened either onto the basin or onto the bed. Our view was the car park. After a long wait at reception, I asked if we had been given the correct room as it didn't have a garden view. I was told to look past the car park to see the garden. Finally, the air vent on the ceiling was covered up. This hotel was overpriced compared to all the other hotels, in Ireland, which we stayed in.

What a wonderful stay we had at Connemara sands. It’s a gorgeous little hotel in a perfect location with plenty facilitates nearby in Cliften. The nearby beach is just stunning too and plenty other beauty spots nearby.
We stayed in a 2 bedroom room which was perfectly equipped and very spacious - a necessity given we had our 1 year old daughter with us. Tastefully decorated and very comfortable. Lovely terrace area which was accessed from the lounge area.
Staff were wonderful, I really wish I could remember her name but the dark-haired lady on reception from near Roundstone was fantastic. She was great with our little girl and couldn’t do more to help. Food in the restaurant was fantastic and there was a great selection of drinks.
Breakfast was gorgeous and I’ve since found myself comparing other hotels to it on many occasion. A lovely calm setting with a fantastic selection of food with great service.
I’m gutted this hotel is so far away from us (we’re in NE Scotland) as we would happily return again and again. Keep up the good work.

    Gets better and better!

Just back from our second stay in the Connemara Sands Hotel.
A little gem perched on the most stunning white sandy beach in Connemara…
Our highlight has to be the sea sauna with Irelands most instagrammable sauna view…words can’t describe it!
Bedrooms are more than comfortable with voya products, white linens and bright scenic views. The food in the hotel is exceptional, Stand-outs are the lobster pie, monkfish skewers and slow cooked lamb. I can see why it’s a favourite for locals.
Thank you for such an exceptional stay and especially to Marion who has the patience of a saint and was so obliging, helpful and friendly throughout our stay… we are already looking forward to our next visit!
