We chose this venue for its proximity to friends that we were visiting. Normally we stay in hotels when away from home so this B & B was something of a new experience - and the experience was faultless.
The owners made tremendous effort to ensure we were made welcome and made the most of our 2 day stay, from the time we arrived, with a welcome tea or coffee, to the time that we left, having enjoyed a typical full English breakfast.
Our room was spotless, as was the areas of the house available to guests, with nicely manicured gardens. With on-site parking one can escape the car to enjoy country walks, weather permitting.
If the need arises we would definitely return.

Celyn Villa B&B is a one hour drive from Liverpool and is a great place to unwind after a visit to the busy city. Quiet and cosy, the perfect option for a relaxing overnight stay. The attention to detail is impressive, from tea and biscuits laid out on a tray in the room to relaxing Radox bath gel and fluffy towels in the beautifully arranged private bathroom! The breakfast next morning was delicious - all high quality produce served with a smile and in the pleasant company of other travellers. I only wish I had had the space to sample some of the delicious looking jams after my full English! This really is a 5 star B&B. I am looking forward to return and bring other family members with me whom I know will absolutely love the cottage and the warm welcome of Paulene and Les. If you arrive in the evening, a bracing walk to the pub down the road will give you an appetite for the good food served. The owners were kind enough to give us some advice on a scenic route through the Wirral salt marshes which made our return trip to Liverpool very enjoyable. Thanks for all your hard work Paulene and Les, much appreciated!

Paulene and Les were very welcoming; on arrival we were offered tea/coffee and the most amazing welsh cake before checking in which was lovely after the long drive.
We stayed in the blue room which was really clean and airy and had a cute little window seat. The bed was very clean and comfy and we had a great night's sleep.
Paulene and Les were very interested in our visit and remembered our names and our plans which was a really nice and personal touch.
The fact that there are just 3 rooms here makes a nice change to the normal Premier Inn/Travelodge type stays.
We went for a walk around the area and for a meal at The Stamford Gate which we would also recommend, so the location of this B&B is perfect for an evening stroll.
The breakfast in the morning was delicious! All freshly cooked and with toasted homemade bread. They catered for vegetarians with veggie sausages too. The breakfast was a full cooked one but not at all greasy and there was the option of cereal too if we wanted it. We were also offered a choice of times for breakfast which was nice as it meant we could decide whether to get up early or have a little longer asleep! Breakfast is served around a big table with all the guests together (dependant on the time you choose for breakfast) which is a nice touch as you can all discuss your plans etc.
All in all this is a lovely B&B and we would definitely stay here again if we were nearby.

Stayed here overnight and altho a very beautiful place and lovely hosts you have to eat your breakfast round a table with the other guests which I found rather uncomfortable. Paulene was in and out of the room making conversation but there were a few awkward silences when she wasn't there . Not for me I'm sorry .

Thank you for your review. I am sorry that you were uncomfortable with our shared breakfast arrangement. However it is very rare that our guests feel this is a negative part of their stay and most days everyone mixes very well and 'the world is put to rights' around the table. Our website clearly states that our breakfast is shared with other guests, but with the popularity of on line booking sites some guests don't take the time to read the details. We are are not a hotel but a private home offering bed and breakfast and as such our dinning table is used for both guests and family dinning.

Beautiful old house in an idyllic area, a very warm welcome was given by our hosts Paulene and Les we were greeted with a cup of tea and biscuits, just what was required after a long drive.

Rooms spotlessly clean lovely bathroom and comfortable bed, with a sea view just the thing for a relaxing night. Although we didn't try one, evenings meals are available on request and if the breakfast is anything to go buy excellent quality and plenty of it.

Can't finish the review without commenting on the homemade bread and blackcurrant jam, wish I could have brought it home with me.

Amazing place to stay and superb hosts.

Nic & Jen
