Beautiful rooftop with a nice view. You can't see the sunset since it's behind Thirassia but the colors and view are amazing nevertheless. Good coffee and ice cream. A bit pricey.

We had some apps and drinks here the other day. Good prices for the view, great roof top seating and good food. Service was pretty good. Weather was windy and cold, but the view was still worth it.

My wife and I were recommended Franco's Cafe in Pirgos (note, there is one with that name in Fira as well) by our host.
We have had some great food in Santorini and enjoyed sunsets in Fira and at Oia, which seems to be where everyone, and I mean everyone goes to see it.
Personally I think Pirgos sunset beats them both hands down.
Francos has a roof top area at one of the highest points in Pirgos, overlooking the caldera and at this time of the year Late May) the sun sets behind New Kamenskoye and Thirasia Islands.
Importantly though the food was spectacular. It is small plate type food which we shared a few pieces of. Very tasty and well put together. Drink list was good as well. Friendly knowledgeable people that run the place.
And, no pushy, loud, or annoying tourists jostling for the "best" spot for selfies. Relaxed small group of mostly couples. Bliss.

The first time we visited Pyrgos, in September 2016 we drove around the bottom of the village not realising that little gem that we were missing out on.
This time we decided to walk up to the church right at the top and when we got there - we'd seen signs for Franco's all the way up - we were delighted to find a little square outside the church and tables and chairs... and a waiter. Fabulous place to sit and look out over the caldera. There are many places to see it from of course, but this, being so high up gives yet another perspective.
There are only snacks and drinks available although there is a restaurant up there as well but we didn't investigate it as mid-afternoon was the wrong time of day for that.

The less visited mountain top village of Pyrgos seems to scape the attention of the cruise ship visitors, being a little quieter than other destinations but still worth a visit from a afternoon stroll.
The twisting steps lead the the church at the highest point of the village and also reveal signs to Franco's cafe.
We ventured inside following the tiny staircase to the rooftop terrace. The views are the best on the island, perhaps the highest (easy to get to) place on the island, from here you can see the whole of Santorini.
We enjoyed a good coffee and took in the views.
Would definitely return here.
