Our party of 17 had dinner here the night before my daughters wedding . Food is good value for money and what you see is what you get . If your looking for Cordon Bleu this is not the place for you . It’s pub grub but tasty all the same

We held our daughter's birthday celebration at the Beancross. Lovely big function suite with plenty of tables and space to dance. Excellent buffet food and fabulous DJ. Staff were amazing....looked after everyone really well. A great night. Thank you!

We arrived for our party night on 22nd Dec We were shown to our table and the waiter gave us the menu to look over. He came back and took our order quite promptly our starters arrived followed by our main course and sweets . The meal was enjoyed by everyone definitely no complaints. The Show started which was on the theme of The Movies. They sang songs from Grease, Abba, and other films. They were very good and we all enjoyed it. Afterwards a DJ played music and a good night was had by all. The next day we were chatting and we all thought although we had a good time we did notice we didn't get offered tea or coffee and there were only 8 tables in the hall which is quite big so it did take away from the atmosphere a bit. It won't stop us going again

Room tip: There are no rooms in the actual hotel but there are travel lodges on site and premier inn across the road

Staying for one night. Warm welcome and shown to room 12 which was huge. Comfy chairs and beautiful bathroom. Spotlessly clean. Dinner was superb and service exceptional. Best nights sleep in the most comfortable bed. Unable to do justice to breakfast next morning as still full up from dinner but partners brekkie looked superb. Must comment on super friendly and efficient staff. Third visit and retuning soon.

So if you are looking for a quiet weekend away this is not the venue for you. This is a wedding venue and does this very very well. However that means that most likely 3 or 4 nights a week there will be loud music and partying until midnight, maybe longer. You have been warned.
Anyway back to the review. Our arrival was a bit weird, you book in to the hotel at the same place where you would ask for a table. Whats my point? Well when you got 2 suitcases and an overnight bag trying to negotiate all the Patrons in the restaurant and bar is a bit of a struggle at the time we booked in. I'm assuming this is a staffing thing, because there is a proper reception when you walk through from the bar area.
Our room (11) was just as you'd expect King Size bed, open cupboard, table chair, iron ironing board. The bathroom was a nice size with a huge walk in shower that pumped out gallons of water. The room also had good fast Wifi. The only downside to room 11? The view. Was hoping to see the Kelpies, em nope. Id suggest rooms 7-11 have the same view.
After we unpacked we decided to pop out and get a few things we needed, unfortunately there is nowhere local to walk too(this is not a criticism of the venue) so we nipped to the local Asda, about 3 miles away.
On returning we decided to eat in the restaurant. Only one menu(or rather we were only offered one menu) but pretty much something for everyone and they do a very reasonable 2 courses for £10 or 3 for £12. Our meal arrived very timeously and we thoroughly enjoyed it. They are clearly used to a fast turnover and indeed our bill arrived without even asking for it. We spent the remainder of or night was spent in the bar. Our breakfast in the morning was a full Scottish, and damn good it was with plenty of tea toast coffee and cereal to boot.
On the Second day we attended a friends wedding and service/food/ facilities wise it was every bit as good as I had been told
Highly recommended, we will be back thats for sure.
