I always look forward to afternoon tea here. I come here quite often with my Mum and we always enjoy it. Never a problem. Nothing is too much. Exactly what you would expect from a 4* hotel. It's even better at this time of year when it's decorated ready for Christmas- Just that extra bit special.

Lovely welcoming hotel not fussy very friendly. Great roaring fire. Afternoon tea as good as any 5 star London hotel. Would have liked another round of sandwiches. Will recommend and visit again . Plenty of parking and not far from main entrance. Vegetarian sandwiches were good too. Not stuffy cosey and welcoming .

I have stayed at this hotel a number of times over the last couple of years.
It is beautifully situated within it's own grounds & gardens in the surrounding Hampshire countryside. You can spend hours just walking around the grounds.
The communal rooms are really quite nice, with high ceilings and open fires - all very much in keeping with the magnificent old building.
The bedrooms are all pretty much unique and the style depends in what part of the complex the room is situated. Those is the main house are obviously older, while those in the garden are modern and very well appointed. There are also numerous wings in between, all with rooms of different ages and standard. On my last visit we were located in the wing overlooking the fish pond - these rooms look as though they have been recently refurbished and are well appointed - not as large as some others, but very nice.
As far as the service goes, I get the impression that it is improving. When I first visited, it appeared to me that they were trying very hard to be upmarket and formal, but not really pulling it off. The atmosphere was not really relaxed and inviting. Over time, things seem to have got better. Especially the people on reception are very open, friendly & helpful.
There restaurant is good. If anything, it is again the service that lets it down a little. There always seems to someone new who is training on the job.
All in all, Tylney Hall is a lovely Hotel that I would recommend and will definately be visiting again. There are better hotels in this part of the Country, but not at this price.

From requesting a certain table to arranging for flowers to be delivered and brought to the table at said time, it was effortlessly achieved. Although upon arrival the staff were a little perturbed as where to seat us for pre-dinner drinks. Once solved the service was impeccable, consensus and to put a finer point on it 'superb'. Food oh my, to tantalise you're taste buds on every count. Chef deserves a Michelin. Value for money, absolutely. Wines by the sommelier hit the nail. Thank you for that little extra effort - priceless.
