I stopped here on a business trip after it was recommended by a friend.

Its a quaint old hotel with good character in a lovely location and had a warm and friendly feel on arrival.

The rooms are very nice and perfect to relax after a busy day.

The bar staff were very polite and the fish and chips dinner was excellent.

If I was in the area I would definitely stay again.

Such a brilliant idea having a little "cottage" at the back of the hotel for folk wanting to stay with their dog. Saved having to walk through the hotel for that early morning walk.
Staff really friendly, and nothing too much trouble.
We had plans for dinner, so didn't eat at the hotel, but breakfast was lovely.

Room Tip: Ask for the cottage if you have a dog.

On arrival this hotel is warm, friendly and extremely homely. We all had a very relaxing weekend. The rooms are in keeping with the buikding and very very clean. The staff are so helpful and very eager to help which made our stay even more enjoyable. Evening meal was delicious and breakfast even better. The photos on internet do not do this hotel justice. I would certainly recommend it to couples and families. Great little village and very friendly locals. Thankyou to all the staff would certainly stay again.

Hotel ideally situated in the town. Car park small but no problems. Staff extremely helpful & attentive to customer needs. An old building with many nooks & crannies, creaking floorboards & many passages. No lift but stairs & steps. Décor throughout a little tired. Room under the eaves, small, but with shower/toilet recessed. Wardrobe bit short of coat hangers & handle loose but okay. Light bulb over bed off but not a problem as two side lights. Comfortable bed & other than previous comments all fittings etc worked. Television on bracket & swivel so could be viewed from various angles. Again décor tired & in need of refreshing but room clean & tidy. Very quiet inside & out and had slept well.

Food good with ample proportions. Breakfast traditional but good choice. Meals & breakfast cooked to order. Service excellent. I required an earlier start that scheduled & easily accommodated.

Great place, staff showed interest in your excursions & knowledgeable about the area. Would certainly stay again - very welcoming!

Stayed for 2 nights in September. What a great little pub in a great little town. Staff & locals friendly. Stayed in the cottage which was terrific and just across the courtyard from the back door. Very comfortable. Breakfast good. Highly recommended.r
