we were here for a wedding in the area, i was happy with the hotel. It is very clean, friendly staff and a great huge pool to sit around. Although we were out most afternoons/evenings the breakfast was a good spread, they had lots of choice. The bar around the pool was very handy and cheap prices.
the area is very local though. up a huge hill where the roads are scary hair pins. Around the hotel are a choice of small local restaurants but BEWARE they don't serve food it seems all day. Once we arrived at the hotel at 3pm,we were hungry. the hotel stops at 2pm, the local area too and even the towns! we were told to wait until 7pm for it to all open again. Thank goodness we found a Lidl in fasano and ate bread and ham there. Once you get the timings right, the pizzeria (in a car park) is delightful and the butcher shop where he cooks it in front of you on a BBQ was fantastic. There is music in a local bar/club which was good fun.
I would recommend driving around to Monopoli and Polignano a mare - just breathtaking!
we have a wedding again here next year, so will be sure to eat at the right times!

Sometimes a beautiful hotel could become a disaster, if special notation or care is not taken. This is considered or has the criteria is one of the best Hotels in La Selva di Fasano. An area reserved particularly for the wealthy or I would say those who can afford a summer house. Its cool all summer and temperatures are just below the average; Better than down town Fasano which is boiling hot. The Hotel entrance is more like a waiting room, which is not very welcoming. However, the receptionist are great and very kind. Parking space is plenty, and other facilities at the hotel reasonable healthy. Its a setting more adapted to Group visitors than individual families. In my opinion, its not ideal for business. The swimming pool space is not properly used, neither are the bar services convenient for late night honeymooners. Its clean, but cleaning staff need to be properly trained about guest protocol. I placed on my door, the sign "Please do not Disturb" , and they kind of tried to force the door open. They did this twice despite the fact that I notified the receptionist. So a beautiful site, great accommodation, but lacking in quality services in some areas.

Room Tip: No great views, so choose a room opposite the Swimming pool.

Just returned after a week at the Sierra Silvana .
At check in we were helped to our room with an army of bags and it set the scene for the whole week .
the staff were fantastic, from the front desk to Mimmo and his helpers in the bar and most of all the restaurant staff. Despite having our little boy with sensory issues and autism with us, nothing was too much trouble from moving tables on Puglia Buffet and dancing night to finding the right breakfast yoghurts.
The room was spacious and spotless, food fantastic and Mimmo's mojitos went down well with my partner .
Yes , you need a car if wanting to explore Puglia but there are a shop , cafe's and places to eat within walking distance .
Pool is never too busy and a welcome relief from 38-40 degree temps .
We loved it and would definitely go back, the Puglia Buffet is well worth it .

Nestled in the beautiful village of Silvana di Fasano above the Adriatic Coast is this wonderfully welcoming hotel. A fantastic pool, great for kids, relaxing and only 20 minutes from the Torre Canne beach village with a sister Hotel providing a spot on the white sand If you do the half board option. The food is good, Breakfast plenty and very Italian, lunch and dinner have to be pre-ordered and can be a bit boring. However the service all round at this hotel is brilliant. We opted out of the HB option for the last two days of six and there are restaurants nearby and towns like Cisternino and Ostuni to enjoy in the evening. It’s the perfect base to explore the area with so many sites and the people are so friendly. We explored many of the beaches on the coast and all were fantastic, as was Lecce and Otranto. You need a car though here....!

There are pros and cons to the hotel. On the positive side, the rooms and grounds are clean. Staff are friendly and there is a large well kept garden and pool (note, the hotel charges 3 Euro to rent a pool towel which is the first hotel ever where I have experienced that). The garden has some play areas for children which is nice (particularly for younger children). The setting is OK. Despite the fact that it is located on top of a hill in a beautiful area, there is no view from the rooms or garden (other than onto the garden).
On the slightly more negative side, the hotel looks very dated and appears more suitable to accommodate conferences or tour groups. The entrance is clinical (almost like a hospital), the building itself is a relic from the 70’s. It was probably modern in its time. It’s lacking in character as a result. The surprising thing is that most other buildings in the area are beautiful and full of character. This hotel sticks out like a sore thumb in comparison.
The breakfast is mediocre. It is a shame to have to have the breakfast at the second floor. A place that lacks any character. Why not offer the possibility to serve it next to the beautiful pool for instance. The coffee is just bad for Italian standards (Nescafé). Bread is plain and without much choice of spreads. Eggs are cold and hard boiled which likely depends on the time you decide to have breakfast. There are some fruits, although either of the 3 types I tried were not ripe yet. Interestingly, there is a very good choice of cakes and tarts. It’s not clear why that part of breakfast is over represented. If you enjoy that for breakfast than you will probably like the breakfast.
We planned to have dinner at the hotel but when we saw the setting, the same horrible 2nd floor, we immediately turned around and drove to another restaurant (one of many) close by.
The worst part of the hotel are the rooms. They are extremely small and certainly not worthy of a 4 star hotel which the hotel prides itself with on their website. We took a room for 4 (including our children), and we didn’t have any space left between or around the beds. In high priced locations like London or New York where real estate is very expensive you could understand it but certainly not for a hotel which is basically situated in the countryside.
The decor of the rooms is also very basic and dated but given the rooms are so small we decided not to spend any time there longer than necessary anyway.
I would certainly not stay here again, simply because I have to believe that there are much more idyllic hotels around with more Italian character. If you plan to stay with a big tour group this may be your place.
Lastly, in other reviews I have noticed that management often dismisses negative criticism. It is exactly that attitude that will likely prevent this hotel from becoming truly deserving of 4 stars.
