New year's Eve Family party didn't really cater for children as advertised. We were told to arrive at 7pm for family buffet served at 7.30, we were assured the event was going to be a family event with lots of children's and adults party games and fun for all the family.
In reality Dave sent children away when they tried to join in the fun at what was supposed to be their event and told them to get parents. No children's disco no children's buffet, but food poor anyway My wife asked why there was no children's food and was rudely told by the member of staff serving that ' her kids would eat it'. Food was left overs turned into turkey pie alongside a sloppy looking pork and onion stew, over cooked vegetables and mince beef chilly with rice, none of which really geared to a family new year's eve event.
We joked that after the Christmas left overs for dinner pudding would include left over Christmas pudding and left over minced pies.
I should mention at this stage that it is now gone 9 pm and no one could use the dance floor to dance to the very dated video disco straight out of 1985 as our food was served to us School canteen style actually set up on the dance floor. Dave anounced sweets were ready and my heart dropped when we finally got to the front of the queue to be greeted by a heap of mince pies and left over Christmas pudding slices with a platter of dried up cheese at the end.
Just as the children were trying to get into the puddings which was the only thing they looked remotely happy about eating Dave decided they all had to go to him to play pass the parcel!!!( The only children's activity it would appear and sadly left until they were half asleep hungry and just wanting their puddings as any kid would.)
The rest of the evening consisted of the school canteen being taken away the whole venue being flooded with dry ice fog all night and us all being subjected to Dave's best 1970's family 21st birthday music selection!!!!
12pm was not COVID secure with everyone being encouraged to enter the fog and cram onto the floor to call in the new year with Dave and his staff as they welcomed in the New Year. At this stage we had experienced more than enough of this sad excuse for a New Year's Eve Family Event and left.
Faulty Towers is alive and well and has been rebuilt in Earlswood.
At £45 for Adults and £25 for children feel well ripped off by this experience as I enter 2022.
