This hotel was recommended by a Cuban travel service and it was the only disappointment of our trip. The Hotel looked nice but the showers were cold and had almost no water pressure. The food was not good. I would recommend booking a AirBnB instead.

We stayed one night although wish we had stayed another night to explore further. The only walk available the day we arrived left shortly after arrival and was arranged via the reception desk, which didn't reflect what we expected in terms of options but was enjoyable. We ate in the evening at a local restaurant in the village block of flats at the bottom of the stairs which was tasty and interesting if lacking in "atmosphere" due to the strip lighting.
The hotel bar couldn't make Pina Colada due to the hurricane....although they could manage G&T but only with one Gin -I wasn't allowed the Bombay Sapphire/ Tanqueray which were also on the shelf...curious.
Breakfast was a full buffet with eggs cooked to order in the dining room.
The rooms were large and airy with views over the valley, including from the shower.

Initial impression very good. Room large and spacious. Large bathroom however we were on the top floor and for our two day visit never had hot water. Staff were lovely but problem not fixed. Our friends on the same floor had no problem. Breakfast many choices, breads, cheeses, fruit, juices and omelettes if requested.

Suprised by Carol's review. We had a fabulous couple of nights in this hotel - rooms more than adequate and clean. Blacony a joy to sit on and watch the trees and brids. Excellent lunches in the snack bar with excellent Cristal beer or cocktails to drink, Ate one night in El Romero (vegetarian restaurant in village, excellent) and one night in hotel - food tasty and what you would expect in Cuba, breakfasts fine, Hotel reception staff very helpful and arranged guided hike which was well worth while doing. Also recommended different walks and organised taxi. Great place for relaxing - not great for thise who want nightlife.

This is a basic but over-priced hotel in an overrated location. The rooms were rustic, worn-out and not particularly clean, the best thing about them was the surprisingly efficient air-con. The service was poor, the food poor, the whole village felt run-down and energy-sapping. This area is much-praised in the guide-books, but it wasn't worth putting on our itinerary. I regret coming here.
