A unique location, lovely home. Well equipped.
We were a large group of 8 and the home accommodated our needs well. The location is brilliant, beautiful views everywhere you look and so close to everything. Wish I could have stayed longer.

What a lovely B&B this is. It really is a one-off. The room is very comfortable, with a balcony that overlooks a billabong, which is full of birdlife, including laughing Kookaburrahs. It's conveniently located for anything you want to see in north Queensland. Jenenne is a terrific hostess and provided easily the best breakfast we had on our 4-week trip to Aus. Oh, and Roxy the dog is worth the visit on her own. Great value and highly recommended.

Possible the best place we've ever stayed in.
Location, wildlife, host, breakfasts - you name it, it's got it - perfectly.
WiFi - yes, it was a bit hit and miss but what the hell, there was life before the Internet. And the laugh of the Kookaburra will soon take your mind away from erratic Google.
To wake up to the views across the lake, well, it doesn't get much better.
Just before we arrived, Jeanne's family had suffered a recent bereavement but she still looked after us like family. She even stopped on the journey from the airport to her place at the local "grog shop" to allow us to stock up with a bottle or few - class.

The property was up for sale while we were there - and was I tempted, sadly just out of my price range :-(

I wish we could rate this place higher than excellent. It's absolutely fantastic. Our planned 2 nights turned into 4 as we loved everything about it. It's dog friendly, (we travel with our 2 dogs) perfectly located near cairns, a short walk to the beach, pub next door with good meals, fabulous breakfast on the deck overlooking the billabong, and Janenne & her daughter were so warm and welcoming. Best holiday accommodation experience ever for us.

This was an idyllic place to stay on our trip to Cairns! We avoided a lot of the tourist hustle and bustle, and had a nice quiet place to retreat to. There is a fun little beach within walking distance that has a nice cafe and market. Other than that, though, you feel like you're in the middle of the jungle.

Jeanine, the hostess, was delightful. She had an amazing breakfast of fruits, crossants, muesli, and on request- eggs and sausage. She's a very good cook!

Our room was a decent size, and while not well lit in the evenings, it was comfortable. She had plenty of brochures for us, and made all our tour bookings. She even went into Cairns to pay and pick up anything we needed. On the day we went scuba diving, we had to be at the dock at 6:30 am, and Jeanine got up early to have breakfast ready for us before we left.

When we packed up to leave, I accidentally locked my keys in the trunk of the car (the "boot" as the Aussies call it), and Jeanine took good care of us as she tracked down a local locksmith and had them on the property in 30 minutes all the while treating us to a beer and some stories as we waited. Definitely a great trip!

Room Tip: Ask for a room on the far side of the house or in the private guest house. The room right off the patio gets a bit of noise from other guests if they get up early for breakfast.
