The hotel is centrally located in Chablis and has a renowned restaurant which did not disappoint. The somelier was
very helpful and we enjoyed some wonderful Chablis. We had a Grand Comfort room with twin beds which were very narrow but extremely comfortable. The exceptional temperatures of 35 degrees did not affect our stay as the room ac-conditioning was wonderful and we slept well. The shower room was well appointed with a good shower and plenty of room. We hope to stay here again!

I found it to be a little too pretentious for the quality of food that was served.

Don't get me wrong it was tasty and well prepared but that is about it. I would have expected for the prices that the restaurant demand something a bit more .... inspired if not spectacular.

This is a well rounded place to have a meal but I wouldn't pay what they are asking for...

We spent a night here on the way to the tunnel. Chablis is a pleasant and very prosperous looking town, not a lot going on, and is naturally full of places wanting to sell you Chablis; whether it's a good place to buy it, I doubt. We had no room in the car for even a bottle, so we left them to it.

The hotel is built around an old religious building of some sort, which now forms the dining room. There is a large shady terrace surrounded on three sides by hotel and on the fourth by a wall. All very picturesque and charming. Inside, the hotel is tidy and pleasantly decorated; false columns predominate, but are somehow inoffensive.

Our room was a decent size, simply furnished, the bed a bit soft, but, hey, this is France. The bathroom was a good size too, very decent shower, bit of a whiff of drains but, again, this is France.

Downstairs, in addition to the terrace, the reception area opens into the bar area and that opens into the fairly large dining room. It all seems quite airy, and the subdued decor does a good job.

We had a well earned drink on the terrace on arrival, and then another one before dinner; a decent range of wines by the glass is available, including several Chablis of different qualities.

Dinner was excellent. There were a number of set menus, ranging from €90 to €45, and an a la carte. We chose the 'Menu morilles' which, as the name suggests, involves gargantuan quantities of morilles, and very good they were too. They came in a sort of soup with a nice big chunk of grilled foie gras, around a piece of omble chevalier, with a well cooked piece of veal and, unusually if not entirely unexpectedly, in the caramelly coating of some poached pears in the delicious pud.

The wine list is extensive and expensive, majoring on Chablis and burgundy in general. We chose (or the sommelier chose for us) a bottle of Irancy, a red from near Chablis, on the advice of a friend. (of ours, not his) Very good, and not too pricey (€40 ish, I think).

Service was efficient and charming.

We breakfasted in the town cafe, along with some of the other hotel guests. I expect the hotel brekkie is very good, but we're not enthusiastic breakfasters, and €14 for a cup of coffee and a croissant seems a bit much.

This place is not worth a massive detour, but if you're in Chablis or its environs, it is well worth a visit.

Room Tip: Overlooking the terrace is pleasant, but the road side would be fine too, I think.

I don't know what to say about this place. It seems to me that there are some new rooms and some that are not...I stayed in an old, shabby, slightly smelly room in a desperate need of refurb, shame as it was huge and on two floors!
But for me the problem wasn't the room, it was the rude, electricity charged lady who, I found later, is managing this hotel! I shall definitely return to a lovely Chablis but NEVER to this establishment.

Stayed here for one night while visiting some wine producers. The room was very good, staff very friendly and location perfect.
The restaurant was very good, the service was perfect but the food a bit expensive.
