Argentario Golf Club

Recommended length of visit: More than 3 hours
Owner description: Argentario Golf Club features 18 panoramic holes for a total of 6,218 metres and par 71. The course has been awarded the “Agri Cert” certification for its bio eco-compatibility, and all products used for its maintenance are completely natural. The golf course is located in a protected natural area, only 5 minutes from the Duna Feniglia Nature Reserve and 25 km from the Parco dell’Uccellina Reserve. The Orbetello Lagoon, the sea and the hillside offer a beautiful panorama and create a microclimate that allows golf to be played at any time of the year. The 18-hole golf course and the driving range, which were inaugurated in 2006, have been designed by the architect David Mezzacane and the professional golfer Baldovino Dassu. The holes were subsequently shaped by Brian Jorgensen: the result is a varied, spectacular and technically challenging course.

enjoyed the remote setting with a view of the water once we found the place. The resort is very attractive though weirdly furnished in common areas. The spa leaves much to be desired in terms of ammenities and staff support. They seem to have problems with their air conditioning as the health club was almost as hot as the temperatiure outside and the rooms didn't stay cold througout the night. The golf course was pretty and challenging with some narrow holes and rough rough. The breakfast spreads are wonderful and the dining setting beautiful and yummy. A bit pricey but romantic and lovely.

We were a family of seven in 3 rooms. The kids ages 13-23, had two rooms in the lower levels which we referred to as the sanitorium section. Everything was white, the floors, the walls, the ceilings. The rooms were spacious with large patios. We had a junior suite on the other side of the hotel. It was a very nice room, but not really a suite. The terrace was nice. The front desk was very efficient and mostly pleasant. The lobby was spacious and modern. My husband and sons enjoyed the golf course. The outdoor pool was very quiet and spa like. It would not be a great place for small or active younger children. Be careful of the slippery wet floors in the spa and indoor pool area. Two of us landed an our backsides during the trip. The only real problem with the hotel was the flies. They were everywhere--- inside and out throughout breakfast. After a while you just give up and stop swatting them away. By the 5th day it was enough. According to the hotel staff they came for the polo matches and took up residence. Whatever, they need to get rid of them asap.. If I came back to the Argentario I would return to the hotel, if the flies were gone.
