We are just back from this resort. Myself, my partner and 10 year old son spent a great week there from 6th-13th October (2017). All I can say that, after reading through some of the 1 star reviews, those folk must've been at a different place than we were!!

We loved every minute of our stay - the food was fantastic and varied. My partner is a real "foody" and she loved it, especially all the fish and shellfish options.

We opted to pay a bit more for the Superior room package, which enabled us to have drinks and snack at the water park included in our all-inclusive package. I'd advise everyone to do this as it makes a big difference! We were also entitled to free ice-cream, snacks and drinks from the hotel pool bar.

The water park itself was brilliant and just a 2 minute walk from the apartments. It is sea water though, so be prepared for that. Didn't make any difference to us. It was lovely and cold for when the temperature got a bit too much to take! Entry to the park was free with our package. We took full advantage of that.

Staff were very helpful and friendly and rooms were always clean and tidy after we returned from a day at the water park. They even helped me when I tried out some a my basic Spanish!!

The beach is only a 5 minute walk from the apartments. We didn't spend much time there (as we were always in the water park) but did go down one day for a walk and it was lovely, with shops and bars there too.

The nightly entertainment in the Plaza wasn't great though. The younger kids there loved their nightly kids disco but the entertainment for adults was very hit-and-miss. Service at the Plaza was quick and friendly.

Overall, a wonderful stay at a great resort. We will definitely, definitely be back.

Room Tip: Book a Superior room

We have just arrived home following our week all inclusive stay at Paradise Lago and what can I say.....can't wait to book our next visit!!!
Food excellent, many choices and none of us went hungry in fact we've probably gained a stone!!
Accommodation, clean and efficient everything we needed was there. We all slept like babies and can't complain about the cleanliness, however do bare in mind it is a 3* so expect 3*
Entertainment, fantastic for kids and adults we had a ball and the team really are fantastic!!!
Facilities, great! Shops a little expensive but we did expect that and the only downside was the water park being saltwater, which the kids didn't enjoy so much. However we found lots to do other than the water park.
For what we paid for our holiday and expecting nothing more than 3* you won't be disappointed, some areas deserve more *'s though!I think we got more than expected!!!

First visit and difficult to recommend and suggest you check out other reviews too before booking

Don't be drawn in by the on site waterpark without researching resort first

Direction at airport to transfer was good but over an hour in a poorly air conditioned coach was horrible.
Dropped off on the street and had to find own way to reception as there was no sign posts, shop assistant eventually directed us to reception, which was about 400yards from drop off point.
Receptionist's english was difficult to understand.
Direction to room was again a struggle, eventually helped by a waitress.
Room was spacious and appeared clean until 2 curly black hairs found on pillow and sheets with what looked like rust marks. Fridge was very small and not very good condition, didn't try tv but was an old CRT screen.
Balcony reasonably sized with great views over resort.
Bathroom was clean, spacious and appeared modern.
Disappointed that the room safe cost €3 a day, even though we were 'all-inclusive'
Rooms were cleaned and tidied 6 times a week.

Food was EXCELLENT. Great choice from main restaurant which changed daily and the snacks available from the poolside bar, although only burger, hot dogs or a toastie available they were also good.

As said by others, yes they're were a few flies in the dining hall but have seen this at other hotels too and cats only seemed to be at tables outside.
No 'all inclusive' food after 2130 and supermarket closes at 2130 too.
Prices in supermarket were reasonable for being only one we seen in resort.
Cats although wild, are looked after by the resort as seen food bowls and water put out for them and maybe saw 10 in my 7 days there. They're quite friendly too and seen several children picking them up and they didn't seem to mind.

WIFI although free in lobby and outside its VERY VERY poor and I finally gave up and used my own monthly contract data allowance as hotel wifi just to slow.
You pay extra for WIFI in your room but I was given an hours free trial first as I was informed a lot of people complained about the paid connection, so I had to trial it before buying. I didn't buy it.

Swim park was ok but BEWARE it's salt water.
Waterpark was NOT included in our 'all-inclusive' although the sign at bar suggested that it is for other hotels and 2 beers and Pepsi ( 1/2 pints) cost €5.50 which I thought was expensive.
Sun loungers are free but cushions for them cost €2 a day and Parasol's €3 a day.
Again for me, this should be free for comfort and sun protection.
Slides are good and 6 for adults and 5 for kids although 1 other kids slide was out of order.

Terrace sun loungers at hotel appear to close at 6pm as the cleaner kept looking at us and appeared to try to shoooo away somebody going to sit down at 1730

The resort is self contained, very little to do at night except the mini golf with ripped artificial grass and poorly maintained holes. The amusement arcade and bowling alley ok but after an hour all done there. The entertainment team put on shows at night which are ok and the daytime activities are good and very worthwhile taking part in and enjoyable, Arena Plaza is busy at night so be early for a seat and it's picnic style benches which get very uncomfortable after a while. Bar was well staffed and didn't wait long for drinks and is open til 0100 but after 2330 the all inclusive finishes and drinks have to be purchased.
About 10 shops in complex selling the usual holiday gifts. Enough to buy the family back home 'gifts'.
LOVED the song played at the end of the show in the Arena Plaza

Beach was nice and reasonably clean, usual cigarette butts but never seen much more.
There are water activities but all cost extra.

There was a holiday rep available but we never used as only here for a week and been to island before (Puerto Rico and Maspalomas ) and done the excursions and tours previously.

Overall I would strongly suggest you read several reviews before booking here to see if its definitely what your looking for, found a lot of 'extras' to pay for which I feel should've been included.
In my opinion and experience the hotel and surrounding facilities let the food down here, hotel is rated 3*rightly,
but the food is easily 4* quality, possibly even higher and entertainment teams efforts are 5*.

Dear jadiepye,

Thank you very much for taking the time to review your stay at the Paradise Lago Taurito Hotel so thoroughly.

It is nice to hear that especially enjoyed the good and varied food as well as the great work done by our entertainment team.

Your several different remarks and suggestions are really very much appreciated as they can help us further improve our guest services.

We would like to comment specifically on your all-inclusive not having included the AI food and drinks at the water park restaurant. The reason for that is quite simple, as different tour operators offer different package holidays based on the contract they have with each hotel, so some of these contracts may include the food and drinks while some others may not. Then there is the fact that a higher category (like the Valle, 4****+) may automatically include the food and drink in the waterpark as that may simply be part of a tour operator booking for that hotel...and obviously also at a higher rate.
By the way guests at the Paradise Lago Taurito Hotel can always upgrade to what the reception calls AI+ (all-inclusive plus), which does include the food and drinks in the water park.

We would be happy to welcome you back to one of our Paradise Hotels, please come visit us again.

Kind regards,

The Paradise Team

Had a great holiday, nice hotel our room was small for 3 as it was a double with an extra bed put in and because of the layout of the rooms noisy neighbours were an issue (as I understand not just from my own experience but from that of others too!). Food was fine, waterpark was great except for being salt water and entertainment was good.

Room Tip: Ask for a suite or family room!
