There is the restaurant Al Pugnalone which is more formal and for serious dining and the Trattoria/Ostaria Al Pugnalone round the corner which shares the same kitchen (a good sign) but is for more informal eating. Just off the main square in Acquapendente. I ws on my own and walking the Via Francigena and chose the trattoria. A wonderful menu - I could have chosen any or all of the dishes but I had pasta (which was very good in itself and I think comes from a specialist grocer across the street) with anchovies, tomato, pine nuts and dried grapes which was superb. The house wine is excellent and several cuts above the usual. Service was friendly and the bill was extremely reasonable.
