“A beautiful hotel with fantastic staff and service”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 4 October 2010

I chose the Alveston House Hotel for my 50th Birthday celebrations as we had previously had such a great experience for our wedding reception 10 years ago. I was so pleased I decided to use the Alveston again. The hotel is very clean, the rooms are spacious and staff are extreamly helpful and attentive. They have the most wonderful gardens at the rear of the hotel in which you can use when the weather is fine. The staff showed us to our room on arrival and carried our luggage too. I had the most wonderful day. We had an afternoon meal followed by an evening party. The food was lovely and they catered so well for my nephew who has special needs which was very important to me. The hotel is quiet at night so a good night sleep was great. The choice at breakfast was wonderful from a cooked breakfast, cereals, fruit and pastries besides unlimited tea, coffee and fruit juice. After breakfast we checked out and sat in the wonderful conservatory until midday drinking coffee and reminiscing on the wonderful time we had not wanting our experience to end. I would thoroughy recommend the Alveston House Hotel for a holiday stay, a wedding reception or party, you will not be disappointed! Thank you Alveston for such a lovely experience on my 50th Birthday. Sue and Andy Tatlow, South Gloucestershire.

We stayed for one night for a 50th Birthday Celebration. We arrived early and our room was ready for us which was great. Our room was spacious and very comfortable, we were shown to our room. The staff were very attentive and nothing was a problem. Our son has special needs and the staff were more than happy to cater for this and I cannot thank them enough for making our stay very enjoyable. We asked for specific food choices and this was done without question. Because of our requirements in a hotel it is hard to find somewhere that can do all we need, but the Staff at the Alveston are great and I would recommend this hotel 100%. All food was prepared as ordered and was very nice. The breakfast was good lots of coffee and tea when you wanted it and every kind of cereal you can think of. The whole experience at the hotel was great the reception we attended was fantasic and everyone in our party had a wonderful time. Thank you very much and we hope to stay with you again very soon. We booked the accommodation late at night after a day of sightseeing in Bath. Alverston House surpassed our expectations. We booked one double room and one single. I had the single room which was luxuriously cosy compared to previous travel lodges we had stayed at. We arrived just in time to have a meal at the restaurant which had a feel of old worthly charm about it. The only regret is that we only stayed one night.

From the moment the helpful staff member transferred my booking to the following week at less than 24 hours notice I had the feeling that I would not be disappointed with my stay and I was right. Fantastic friendly but professional welcome on arrival and shown to room (last experienced at a 4 star hotel in the states) giving opportunity to declare acceptability. Dined in the Carriages restaurant which from the pre dinner drinks to the final cup of coffee proved to be a superb culinary experienced backed up by genuine warm and friendly efficient service. Well done and thank you to the Alveston House Hotel for maintaining a traditional hotel and I would certainly stay again if in the area.

We held our ruby wedding celebrations here and booked rooms for several of our friends. The actual celebratory meal was of the highest quality; the service throughout was outstanding with every attention to detail. Our guests were very impressed with the standard of the rooms, high standards of cleanliness, pleasant decor and very comfortable beds. The quality of the breakfast was second to none. Where else nowadays would you have a breakfast freshly cooked to order?
Reception staff and waiting staff were of the highest calibre. The customer obviously comes first! We are trying to find something else to celebrate just to use this wonderful hotel again.
