“Elegant, roomy house in the Luberon with a beautiful garden, good pool, and stylish furniture.”
Reviewed 28 May 2016 for a stay in May 2016

This is a large house in two attached buildings, with a soft yellow-gold stone exterior and massive, light-colored wooden beams inside. There are two gardens (climbing roses, jasmine, honeysuckle and lavender were in bloom in late May), and a well-kept pool. Efficient, friendly cleaner and gardener come to neaten up every four days. Kitchen is big, well-equipped, and easy to work in, even with three or four cooks at the same time. Each of the five bedrooms is stylish in a different way, with a good-looking bathroom; thick walls mean that guests hardly hear one another at night. Maubec is a clean and peaceful village; others nearby are perched on hills or located in market towns. Good proximity to art towns--Arles, Aix, Avignon; concerts in nearby churches; hikes of all kinds from easy to challenging. Every detail is perfect in this house. It's pricey, but worth every sou.

A superb villa which is fantastically well equipped and has a wonderful outdoor kitchen/BBQ and table and beautiful pool in a very well kept garden. Luxury throughout - highest quality linens, towels, the owners have clearly thought of everything you might need and provided it. Bliss to have air conditioned rooms (and the air conditioning wasn't noisy). We were two families so the layout was particularly good for us. Very good location 2 minutes walk from an excellent Boulangerie, village shop and pizza place. Lovely little restaurant 5 mins walk in the perched old part of the village. Generally excellent location for other villages, Avignon etc. Definitely recommend.
